Trinx was in my watch list before. but as etigge advised, give so much spec for a cheap price, quality is a suspect. so did you bought this? what is your opinion of this foldie?

my 2cents..me and wife start as cycling around kampong.. now i cycling around town, she got to stop for a whlie.. but you got to ask yourself whether you will be in this hobby for how long.. anyway if you get the java, and after a while you get bored with this hobby you still can let it go in BBS.

mbax nice trip!
hopefully nex month i can aply some leave n go litle bit touring too tongue.gif

my helmet is white bern g2
i bought it cuz of its look n at dat time kinda hard to find any
it looks kinda fun n leisure rather than making me looks like a serious cyclist
not a fan of "tajam2" helmet tongue.gif
hehe

n cuz it has some fancy reflector it kinda a plus point for me when riding home at night tongue.gif

if ony for protection i tink any helmets will do
i tink the styling is kinda like a statement of what kind of cycling u do
the more protection looking helmet i tink is for downhill or serious offroading
dat bell leader is very nice looking
but kinda expensive for leisure rider like me
i tink those who bought nutcase is for their looks rather than aniting
hehe

cheers

my helmet

Question for Etigge or other sifus out there. I have a Giant Halfway and it has a 13-28T screw on freewheel. I want more speed so need to change to a 11-28T. Where would be the best place to look for one of these freewheels?
Thanx!

Hi guys, need some advice on purchasing my first bike.
Will be using it to cycle to/from work, place is around kajang/bbb.

A question, how does Dahon Vybe C7A compares to Raleigh Ugo?

From the post around here, it seems like the Dahon brand is the better known one, but the price is rather out of my budget (RM 700-800 ).

On the other side, considering my rather heavy weight, I am worried about getting a subpar folding bike. Any advice?

You didn't mention whether yours is a 6/7 or 8 speed! hmm.gif

Usually freewheel cogs are 7 speed and below. There are 8 speeds sets though but hard to come by. I have used one before. An X- friend of mine still have a 7 speed which starts from 11T. I don't know if he still wants to sell it. Maybe you can message him in FB under Clement KokLupp Chan. Don't mention me though. shakehead.gif Most starts from 13/14T to 28T. Anything 8 speed and above uses a different cassette hub already.

For the first time, honestly! I say the Raleigh is a much more solid looking foldie. If you want a better comparison, go to Kimbell Jaya. They now have both of it in stock. Ask Jimmy to bring out both bikes and compare it side by side. The Dahon is RM800 while the Raleigh UGo is RM750. Although Dahon Vybe C7S ( NOT C7A which is an aluminium frame) is RM50 priced higher, the components on the Raleigh is better. In fact the colour is even better but you know lah, a reknown brand compared to another not so popular brand. It's up to you.

Both have their pros and cons. ride wise, the Dahon C7S is better due to the steel frame but it's heavier and in future moddings, it is easier on the Dahon which has more superior parts that can be found in the market. Clamp wise (the folding part) it is still Dahon. nod.gif

think i'll give this Jimmy a visit this weekend.. wanted to get a Tern Link D8 but so far Rodalink & Van's only have it in white and pink.. so if it's the same case with Kimbell, i can have a look at other Dahons/Terns that he has in stock

Mr etigge, what are his weekend opening times? Sunday open? and can i name-drop you to maybe get a nice discount? blush.gif

Kimbell Jaya do open Sundays but close on one Sunday a month. Opens half day though. Call Jimmy first (012-2927636) He just received a Dahon Vigor and 2 Tern C7s and a few Dahon Vybes. Also there are other foldies there. If you visit Saturdays, he's open for sure, from 11.30am onwards. Go ahead, just tell you ride with Wong and I am sure there's a good price. icon_rolleyes.gif
