Tyrell is overprice. You can get a decent folding + mtb + road bike for only one tyrell. Folding Bicycles v2, Dahon, Tern, Java, Oribike, Bromptons

QUOTE(kcwo @ Feb 10 2014, 07:56 AM) It is not over priced. It's expensive because it is handmade in Japan. A fellow lady rider bought one for 6K plus and it is only 10 speeder and single crank. |

Last week went and pump air for my wife's java fit tyres. Noticed the remark on the tyre profile that stated min 88psi air pressure. i was like, "whaddefakk!?" is it that crazy high?
strangely my Ugo's fatter tyre indicated min 28psi. so are my moped (kapchai) even my Kawasaki Versys rear tyre takes 37psi ONLY. how can a skinny 20" tyre takes 88psi?? just to be safe i pumped in 55psi. or should i follow the indicator and pump 88psi? |

QUOTE(andythology @ Feb 10 2014, 02:06 PM) wah.... that's pretty sick. kinda worried though... even with car i pump 35psi only.... small thin bicycle tyres go 88psi, i wonder who it takes that much of a pressure.anyway ok i will try put 88 psi the next time i go pump. |

Car and mopeds tires are less pressurized but they have more volume. Bicycle tires are only so small and they do need more tire pressure to hold your weight. My Maxxis tires can actually take up to 110 psi but I usually pump mine 80 psi at he back and 70 psi in front.strangely my Ugo's fatter tyre indicated min 28psi. so are my moped (kapchai) even my Kawasaki Versys rear tyre takes 37psi ONLY. how can a skinny 20" tyre takes 88psi?? just to be safe i pumped in 55psi. or should i follow the indicator and pump 88psi? |

Hi im new to cycling but im tempted to get a Java Fit cos of its design =D
Is pedalspot shop selling their bikes on the high price ? I saw Javafit from there , they quoted me about rm1680 after discount. And is there anything i need to watch out for before purchasing it ? Or is there a cheaper price in any shop for Java Fit ? Or any recommendation ? =X Thanks in advance |

what is everyone's take on the 'skater' type helmets from Bern, Nutcase, etc. How comfortable are they compared to normal cycling helmets, and more importantly are they less safe? As currently i dont see myself cycling at high speeds or long distances on highways, i would prefer the skater helmets as (ironically) would make me look less like a cyclist, especially as i have NO intention whatsoever to wear a tight lycra shirt. Ever.

Ever. Most of the times riders have a wrong perception of a helmet and it's purpose. Although both motorcycle and bicycle helmets have a main purpose that is to protect our skull, they are designed in a different manner. As opposed to motorcycle helmet which are stronger to take impact from higher speed riding whereas a bicycle helmet is a protection for once only. Usually it will crack or break after an impact. You need to thank God you are wearing one and after that you need to buy another helmet. Wearing one doesn't guarantees safety but even motorcycle helmet with Sirim certification also doesn't guarantee as well. Some protection is better than none. There are many who argues that a bicycle helmet does no improvement on safety as they said that our grandfather never wore helmets when they ride. They even wore a sarong on one ride to prove the point, just like our grandfather also wears sarong when they were riding many years ago. What they did not take into consideration was there were as many cars as we have fingers in those days. Those days, cars avoid cyclist but try it now! It is a matter of choice lah! If you don't want to wear, don't lah! |
