Your HD must be in FAT32 format. Unless phone is rooted, you wont be able to read default NTFS formatted drive. That is for Android OS 4.1.2 and below. For 4.2.2 I am not too sure as I do not have any 1TB NTFS drive. My Samsung 1TB ( in Fat32 format) can be read. Anyway power need required from USB harddrives is higher than thumb drives. Depending on your model , sometimes even on FAT32 format you cannot read it unless you can power up your HD separately

Singapore will be launching this phone ( 99.99% will be LTE based on various sources ) this 15 August

i took the plunge for XZU instead of XZ in replacement of my acro S.

i won't compare XZU to honami. if you are the first step mover then i suggest you to wait for honami and get it while it's oven hot. else, get a XZU at a price lower than 2299.

the camera part. XZU camera definitely loses out to many phones that come with LED flash. i have not met any issues with low light pic taking yet but overall images still acceptable.

Thanks for the respond. I'm not first step mover so getting newly launch phone is not a priority (that's why I wait for Z quite some time so that the price dropped but then XZU offers different experience with it's large screen sweat.gif ).

it's just that from what i read honami strength is in it's camera but I don't really focusing on that as I'm already satisfied with arc's camera for a casual picture. if honami only beat xzu on camera's department, then my choice will certainly goes to XZU due to it's larger screen. unless if XZU camera lose to arc camera, then I might need to reconsider rclxub.gif

I think its bad news.

First of all, its powerful because of S800. In September, more and more phone having S800. So it won't be selling point of XZU anymore.

And since you say other feature like camera, battery etc perform badly, I think XZU will lose out to other phone soon.  cry.gif

I think Sony did the right thing. Its out early and having a good screen as well. Many would have bought one unless they are waiting for something to replace their Note series.

I think the downside is probably not having Android 4.3

well. i think honami has all the xzu features. triluminous, x-reality, BE2.
the only thing diff is 5inch, 21mp camera, might be better speaker and microphone(to beat 1020 lumia)

Question to the aesthetes.

After how many iterations of the same squarish glass panel design will you start saying the "Sony's designs are so boring, just a large glass slab" ?

It is a large glass slab....

well on my Honest opinion,
i love glass back and front(as long as its durable)
wlll never get bored of its squarish design - tv like, good for entertainment purposes
it looks beautiful, plus scratches aren't noticeable compare to aluminium, plastic.

since i saw Linus from LinusTechTips dropped his HTC One.
and my own experience with S3 plastic back cover, which the paint/glossy side tekopak.
will do keep my distance from these kind of product in the near future.

due to the first introduction of the squarish design in 2012 i skipped Sony phones for a while until now..where i slowly getting accustomed seeing the chocolate bar design...just because i feel turn off looking at the ladies pad design of Samsung. (their smaller phones are ok, but not for the super long one like S4)

I was using this phone quite heavily today past 8 hours. Here is my battery usage to show again the great battery life. I started at 99% n at 80% battery usage I have recorded 5.75 hours of SOT. This means on same pattern of usage to empty I will hit 7. 2 hours SOT.

I was on internet more than 80% of time ( browsing, email, Whatsapp, tweeter, Facebook, newsfeed) n others about an hour using as pedometer, others are ebook, sms, calls etc. I was 50/50 on 3g n wifi ( both on) with autosync on n bluetooth/gps off.
This is another one together with my past previous postings to show the good battery life. I won't say is excellent but pretty good considering the big size display n high powered processor. Those who still think this phone had poor battery can always check back all my previous postings. It is definitely comparable to Note2 n Mega
