Manually Update Lumia 920 GDR2/Amber
(Thanks to Fantasy & GothFebrio ) Confirm Work on Lumia 920 RED/YELLOW/WHITE/BLACK 1. Download Nokia Care Suite 5.0 2. Download Amber Firmware version 3047.0000.1326.2009 link by fantasy http://www.mediafire.com/?289rqnb8ncy1n5x,...7rfacj193pgg1cr 3. Install Nokia Care suite 4. Extract & Copy all 11items 1.37GB to Folder RM-821 C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Packages\Products\rm-821 5. Create folder rm-821 Folder in Product directory if you don’t have. 6. Disconnect your Lumia 920 from PC. 7. Open Nokia Care Suite , Select Product Support Tool for Store 5.0. 8. Open Product and select RM-821 (Nokia Lumia 920). 9. Select Programming > Recovery. 10. Click Update list you will see 059R021 RM821 VAR APAC MY CV RED 3047.000.1326.2009 11. Do not connect your phone to PC, Completely POWER OFF your devices. 12. Click Start > USB Recovery verifying data package in progress… wait until Recovery Error Popup. 13. Plugin your Lumia to PC, ignore the 1st vibrate. 14. Follow On Screen instruction step 1 to 3 SoftReseting your devices. 15. After 2nd vibrate , HIT the RETRY to flash. 16. Wait for USB Recovery Flashing about 15min. Hi there,
Anyone have duplicate photo in Photo Hubs before? I currently having this issue where the photo is duplicated in album [some 2 ..some 4]. But when i connect to pc and check, it only has one photo. I tried 1. Copy photo to PC. 2. Format SD card 3. put in picture again But it still appear multiple in photohub  It seem duplicate more everytime i delete and readd it  "Any way to delete the cache in window phone? Edit: Now i tried this: 1. Format SD card 2. Paste the photo onto phone storage 3. dadaaa still got duplicate..now i got 3x of the photo " [but physically is only 1]Edit 2: It getting worse as i tried to fix it  Now it duplicate x4 Here photo:

Hope Nokia Malaysia release Amber + GDR2 update as soon as possible leh, now rumors GDR3 will release on September to allow Nokia to come out 6" screen size product.

guys what major diff btwn w7.8 and w8 in terms of apps. I am tired of waiting LINE to be updated with call feature. the viber app is almost useless in 7.8 because cant see call unless it is open as active screen.

anyone have any idea where can I get a cheap mid range 2nd hand W8 phones around Klang Valley? Most of the shops I went to only have Androids or Apple.
I'm a current user of Nokia X7, really interested to change to a Lumia phones after watching their keynotes and events. Especially the action camera and the GPS direction thingy like a HUD, but I found out later that the feature is only available in 925 & 920 (darn it!). I travel often so those will come in handy..I can do with 3rd party instagram apps anyway. went to test out 920 at Connect but the my first impression is..so boring and bland. Contained within 2 major screen, left and right only hahaa. So I guess I'll just head for a mid range one cos I'm still interested with the camera tbh, prolly L720? but 2nd hand ones are rare mang, even in GS or Lelong. Any recommendation? |

hi guys..been reading steps mention by evilpuppy abt how to flash to amber..juz curios when download the 2 file amber update part 1 n part 4..and later extract it i got error saying file is broken..any ideas?using 7 zip file manager n running windows 7

Due to 520 don't had Nokia's Clear Black display technology, 520 will had problem when viewing under sunlight, other Nokia models (620, 720, 820, 920, 1020) had clear black display technology added into the phone, making viewing screen under sunlight much easier.

Found out that Listen is basically just a skin of the default player. Try playing a song on Listen and then delete the app. You'll find that the same song would be playing on the default player.
Heard the Amber update brings about changes to the music player, so hope it really does improve. I really wish that there'll be a search option instead of having to manually scroll through stuff. |

and in the AMBER update, I noticed that the word "4G" has been changed to "LTE"...

Guys I wanna view some pdf files in my lumia 520 but the I can't. I mean i connect the phone to my laptop, put in all those files and then from where should I open the files in my phone? I have download Adobe Reader but no use nothing happening what to do now?

try updating to v10.2

somehow I do noticed that the Store tile will refresh everyday between 11am - 12pm and 11pm - 12midnite... not sure if it's a coincidence though..

From the time I bought my L520, there has been a problem with the camera button so i, at last, went today to the Plaza Berjaya in Nokia Care Centre. There I asked them and the lady there confirmed, by just inspecting over there by taking a couple of pics without the Shell, that the Shell or in other words the back casing has a problem. To solve this solution she asked me to give the mobile to them for at least 1 week. Do i need to give my phone to them for sure? OR is there any other way to change my mobile's Shell?

The battery lasts for 2 days or sometimes even more and this is a very good performance as compared to any other android at this price probably. It doesn't hang or lag like android. I love my L520. |

Didn't check while driving but surely it is worth using when walking and it is difficult to find the place. And it tells the nearest bus stop and lrt stations as well. It is quite good. Here Drive+ tends to give some wrong turns that makes me go quite far instead of using a shorter road, for example there is a legal turn to the left, instead it asks me to turn right and make a U-turn

Is there a profile app for WP8 like androids whereby say set time to 11pm to enter silent mode and full sound mode by 8am.

hi, just want to get opinion fr wp8 users.... i intend to buy lumia 720 but most shops say wp8 got lots of problems, and recommend samsung galaxy series instead, on android ofcos. do u guys face any issues? i can't really find any physical units to view/hold cos all shops/kiosk display samsung phones! i m fr seberang perai, penang. pls enlighten me. thanks.

WP8 does not have much problem. It is fine and smooth. I can think of two major issues: lack of apps and slower notification issues. Lack of app is a problem if u are a app junkies, but WP8 got most of the main apps covered, so not much worries thereIf you want to have a try on WP8, maybe visit a Nokia shop? |

I'm came to L720 from my s3. Sick of sucky battery life. WP8 is a nice OS besides that its a bit of unpolished. Its still young give it some times, I'm sure it'll rise like iOS and Android. |

It looks as though it has amber update, as it has Data Sense and the find wifi thing using data sense. Otherwise, not much noticeable difference at the moment.

it seems got satisfied lumia/wp8 users here, but it's really hard for me to find L720 in penang esp seberang jaya. shop either say wp8 problem or nokia problem. they don't even carry any display unit or info for wp8! all android only, haih! don't want to buy online, afraid of facing problem for warranty claim later.
do u guys really face any issue w wp8/nokia? my neighbour (hp seller) even don't want to order for me, actually plan to get 1 lenovo a706 for wife (android) and 1 lumia L720 (wp8) for myself. |

I would say those issues are minor or doesn't really irritates me. I had my L720 went dead by itself twice by random and I need to do a soft reset to get it back on. My phone does restart itself several times. But these issues happen rarely and randomly. Other than that are just the feature and UI issues. No custom third party app ringtone, no orientation lock, unified volume control etcs. Imo, most Malaysians are not ready to accept Windows Phone. They may find Livetile confusing as they are used to conventional app drawer. Besides, some don't even know WTH is Android, they only know Samsung vs Apple. Galaxies vs. iPhones. Nokia? They'll track it back to the history of feature phone. Microsoft had release GDR2 to address the other storage issue that the files size keep on expanding, after update to GDR2, the size will shrink.
Now had to wait HTC to release GDR2 update for WP8. |

-office program in wp8 is limited time use, hv to pay for it. -can't bluetooth any documents etc, bluetooth only for handfree pairing -can't customize like android -android more free app (but i m not app crazy) -nokia no trade in value anymore any user care to post user experience on these? tq ps. not sure to wait for lumia 725 or not, since 925 and 625 launched. |

To sync from your laptop (W8 or not) to wp8, you use Skydrive (i.e. over Internet, not USB cable). As long as you put your files on Skydrive, it will be accessible from both sides. (but sometimes I scream inside why all the major companies/banks in Australia don't make apps for WP, I am studying there now, they LOVE making iOS/Android apps for every single small thing!) |

I buy & use my Nokia handphones >3 years usage.
Like my old Nokia E72, been using it faithfully for almost 3 years now, changed to Lumia 925 due to some of the keypads are falling apart piece by piece I don't like to chase technology because I know I won't able to keep uo. Neither of us will do. |

I've composed simple Word files, then copied to my office pc for further work.
And I've loaded PowerPoint files into my phone, just for the novelty of viewing them on a small screen. Mobile Office is good to have, even many of us don't use it much. |

I'm pretty sure mine is wifi priority first ....
Connected to wifi, if my friend is downloading or streaming, it really slow, i have to turn off the wifi to use data instead .... ( data is on even wifi is connected ) |

guys i need help..
yesterday i saw the upgrade notification and i clicked it. what happen is, until now my phone have this 2 gears running. its been 24 hours now. i try the soft reset press vol down+power to restart -> then vol up, vol down, power , and then vol down back (one at a time) i even try the hard reset Press vol + power + camera but nothing avail...up till now the stupid 2 gears on the display.. sigh. i shouldnt click upgrade. any advise what to do? or anyone face d same prob? |

Hmm... Just want to share some minor update on Windows Phone App Store (browser), previously if your phone didn't turn on "find my phone", the app won't get into your phone automatically instead they will email you the link which is pretty lame and they didn't ask you turn on that "find my phone" feature.
Now, on the store site, the website will prompt you to turn on the "find my phone" in order to get the app automatically into your phone. |

Why don't people buy the much cheaper but bigger screen/better screen/battery Samsung Ativ S instead of Lumia 720? Especially now you can also have Nokia Here navigation on the Samsung. They even cost the same.

My first touch screen phone was the original Samsung Wave, beautiful hardware from Samsung. The problem is they totally neglect the bada os.
Ativ S looks like history repeating itself, as WP8 appears to be no more than Plan B or C even for Samsung. Still it's a great phone and the WP8 experience transcends brands. hi, may i get some info fr l720 users, when i make call the whole screen 'black out', meaning i don't get to choose to tap any options. i can't end call or turn on speaker phone. i can only see the taps when i press briefly power button for 2x. is my phone software problem?

It could be a RED or any cinecam, the dynamic range is just so good!
Video not sponsored by Nokia, but AT&T and that's what they like to do every time. They did approached WongFu to do a series of interactive drama with Lumia phones. |

Bought an Ifon 3GS..happy with the fon and it could be misunderstanding that batt died..anyway bro Evilpuppy just replied me yesterday explaining he had knee surgery and was in hospital..said he would settle as soon as he was discharged..anyway he seems quite trustworthy and am hopeful that he will keep to his word..cheers

Hey guys, are you guys still having the notification delay for Whatsapp and Facebook chat? Facebook chat got better after Amber. But Whatsapp have not changed. It can delay up to 15mins. I'm using Maxis, the 3G here is considerably good. Even on WiFi I have delays. I kept the app running in Background Task. Im getting really annoyed with it. Might quit WP8 for Note 3. btw. I'm using L720.

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? 1. Poor signal/connection 2. WiFi congested (public or shared) 3. WiFi turns off whenever the phone is locked About not getting WiFi detected: 1. WiFi is on different channel 2. TMs unifi router for example use auto channel setting by default. And it support up to channel 13, and if the auto selection lands there, your phone wont detect the wifi.also, my L720 can't seems to detect certain WiFi. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? |

My Lumia 620 cannot switch off since Amber update. It closes down, then restarts about a minute later. I'm not charging the phone when this happens.

Kinda disappointed that Nokia promised Amber for all model by late September but now also still never get yet. This was two months ago btw... :/
