QUOTE(hmwgbworld @ Sep 6 2013, 11:32 AM) though the stickers are not warranty stickers, just for you to verify its from zitron/avaxx and skmm approved. you can remove it straight away after you pay of course. the warranty stickers are inside the phone. lumia 920 for example have it below the sim tray. |

QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Sep 19 2013, 11:30 AM) This is how I understood it. nope, Its like thisWP8 and Amber are provided by Microsoft so it's not a Nokia exclusive. So all WP8 should have Amber. Microsoft WP8 RTM -> GDR1(aka Portico) -> GDR2 -> GDR3 -> WP8.1 Nokia PR1.0 -> PR1.1(came with portico) -> PR1.1.5 -> PR2.0(Amber (came with GDR2)) -> PR??(Bittersweet Shimmer(should be with GDR3)) other manufacturers have their own firmware. |

QUOTE(-ahtiang- @ Sep 22 2013, 10:24 AM) Yes this is correct. Amber and Bittersweet Shimmer are Nokia branding of update which is released by Microsoft via GDR2, GDR3 and etc. WP8 is Apollo. Cuz i remember coming from Tango(before ms released wp7.8). Microsoft code named their Windows Phone major releases with the alphabet 'o' at the back for all of them e.g., Mango, Portico, and Apollo for WP8.1 This post has been edited by GothFebrio: Sep 22 2013, 02:58 PM |

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Sep 28 2013, 08:51 PM) Hey guys, are you guys still having the notification delay for Whatsapp and Facebook chat? Facebook chat got better after Amber. But Whatsapp have not changed. It can delay up to 15mins. I'm using Maxis, the 3G here is considerably good. Even on WiFi I have delays. I kept the app running in Background Task. Im getting really annoyed with it. Might quit WP8 for Note 3. btw. I'm using L720. in the US(not sure about malaysia) they dont allow channel 12 and 13 on 2.4GHz. So either Qualcomm disabled it or the chip itself doesnt support it. TMs unifi router for example use auto channel setting by default. And it support up to channel 13, and if the auto selection lands there, your phone wont detect the wifi.also, my L720 can't seems to detect certain WiFi. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? |

QUOTE(dauf87 @ Oct 16 2013, 03:14 PM) There are A LOT of apps that's not available for Malaysia's WP Marketplace.. Yes you can, in fact, many of us including me is using the US WP Store. You just have to change your country/region in settings-> language+region. And tap restart when it ask you to.Are there any ways we can install app from another marketplace? Or are there any way we can report to the developer? Thank You. |

QUOTE(mypie @ Oct 17 2013, 01:11 PM) New WP8 Lumia 925 user here coming from android. WP always use wifi instead of data. Do you turn on the wifi always on option in wifi advanced settings? By default WP turns off wifi when screen off and will use your data in this case.Something bothering me is how to set priority on Wifi over 3G. I used to use less than 20mb/m on android and now in just 10 days using WP8 the cumulative data is already reaching 50mb. I'am connected to wifi at home (unifiVIP10) and in the office and prety sure wifi is faster than 3G in both condition, so whatever default setting should always pick wifi first. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=63104047 I've search trough and found this topic but am not sure how to set the priority. Manually turn off 3G is abit hassle to do. |

QUOTE(ahnien @ Oct 18 2013, 06:34 PM) i believe so that i read from some whereelse saying that malaysian units are all locked, no such thing. your phone is developer unlock only if you developer unlock it. hard resets will remove developer unlock. but for warranty purpose better reflash to gdr2 or before, as hard resets wont downgrade the os.ther's a way too check via the firmware version code and rom code. but i forgot it dy. i try google and see |

QUOTE(dgboy @ Oct 18 2013, 10:18 PM) thanks http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1350761...dk-on-windows-7after reading up more I found this Microsoft page, where it states To participate, you need to meet one of the three conditions: your phone is ‘developer-unlocked,’ you are a registered Windows Phone Store developer, OR you are a registered Windows Phone App Studio developer. if that's correct, it will suffice to register as a developer under App Studio? my problem is that i'm unable to run the Windows Phone Developer Registration Tool in SDK8.0 because that needs Win8 and my laptop is Win7 (64-bit). i've tried SDK7.1, but the registration tool in that does not find my phone. any idea how to register my phone for the GDR3 Preview in these circumstances? else, you need a windows 8 emulator or something. |

QUOTE(dgboy @ Oct 18 2013, 11:53 PM) yup, it's very simple nice one, saw a vid on wpcentral where they log in the dev account in the app right? correct me if im wrong. i guess the app will do it for you. you dont need to log in if you developer unlock using SDK tool.register under App Studio install the Developer Preview app check, download and install updates |

QUOTE(donizback @ Oct 19 2013, 10:21 AM) will it void the warranty? I still have got 9 months warranty left, should I update it or wait for the normal one??? yes it will void your warranty, but if you have hardware problem that needed to be sent to NCC, you can just re flash to the old os+firmware using the dead usb/phone method(you now have your warranty back). because developer unlock is tied to your phone+microsoft account(hard reset removes developer unlock), and you cant downgrade your phone(unless you flash like i mention). if you dont mind losing your data which the NCC will wipe anyway, then do it, else, wait for the official release. |

QUOTE(donizback @ Oct 20 2013, 09:30 AM) oh thank you so much for telling, now i am considering to update to gdr 3 preview. If this is what your are telling is correct that I will get back my warranty after the official release then it is worth doing you still have to hard reset your phone though even after GA, to remove the developer unlock(i bet NCC wont take their time to check this though). but to go to GDR3 preview and the final gdr3, you wont lose anything as the upgrade is through OTA. about the warranty, you can always flash back to the previous firmware, if nokia care suite cant boot your phone, so does the NCC people and theyll replace the whole board. but this is very very very rare of course, almost impossible for software(OS) to break hardware, unless it messes with drivers(firmware). just do it.normal claim = screen problem(for example) -> send NCC -> reset(lose data) - > fix ->get back the phone now = screen problem(for example) -> flash back(lose data) - send NCC -> reset(lose data) - > fix ->get back the phone back on official = normal. basically, you wont lose anything except for the extra step. |

This stupid phone can't detect my own house wifi Previously it was alright that it used to not detect wifi for around 4 to 5 hours, no problem but now it is more than enough!
