which bring me to this point, why on earth proton need to make cars that can take corner at 130km/hr?

They should focus more on what consumer want these days;

cheap to run, maintain and less/free problem.

Heck, I can live with a saga that have max speed 150km/hr with fuel cons. of 5.5l/100 km.

we ordinary driver don't need drive fast  all the time.

So Proton please start make car lighter, if you stuck at the engine part!!!
*
Short answer: because they can. With the amount of turtle myvi's, flying myvi's, and was it a vios that was stuck like 10 m above ground at the side of a toll highway. No idea how the toyota managed to get stuck at the stone wall barriers.

Not that easy to make lighter:
Need new platform, 1bil gone there.
New engine another 1bil gone there

There are some people who drive at 160-180km brows.gif I know someone who is having breakfast 9 am at PJ, can reach Penang Island by 1pm and have lunch there.

Ordinary people want leather seat, smart HU, quiet car. Suprima has most of it. Saga market group is different than suprima market group.

I don't ask much from Proton, just that make an affordable variant of Suprima.

If Preve can be fitted with 1.6 IAFM+ engine, why can't Suprima S?

Make it more affordable. Also make it as light as Preve.
They can just discard all the extra safety features so that it can achieve better power to weight ratio. Basic safety is a must, all the mandatory one.

My point is people in Malaysia won't bother much about safety,(e.g. Vios). As long the price is cheaper, they will still buy it.

Isn't that what Proton has been doing with previous models? Disregard safety for local markets, and provide good safety spec for export.

And people are complaining about that and Proton actually listen.

Cause, Suprima heavier than Preve. Both still 1.3 tons.

Want a fast, lack of feature car, there is the Saga SV. People already complaining the Preve lack of power because of IAFM+ engine, why put a weak engine in a hatchback which weighs more. Want a hatchback...get the SNR3, cheaper. Want a faster, cheaper car, get the 2011 SNR3.

Cause they are desperate to run from Proton, even though they decide to buy the cheapest Vios...still Toyota. Still adik-beradik Toyota 86 which is a distant cousin of the LFA. Same like some people buy the X1 (which is not a refined car at all) just because to get the BMW brand lari from CRV which is better.

From what you have been saying, the Suprima is not for you due to being over your price bracket. There are other cars like Persona, Saga which are cheaper. You cannot criticize Proton for making a car at every price bracket. Everyone does this. It gives people choice at every 5k from 30K onwards. Same like, I want to buy Accord, but make it lighter, cheaper...there is a civic 2.0, city.

One segment there is room for improvement is the small, saga SV-leather edition....wait, they already have it in the Saga executive. Comfort, safety = weight increase which is 49k. sv cvt only 36k. Good things are not cheap.

80k for the spec is value for money. 'Affordable' i don't think the average malaysian can 'afford' 80k cars.

Malaysian expect Proton have an obligation to produce cheap cars. First thing first is to dissociate Proton from being rakyat's car.

If proton themselves feel they have an obligation, classified their product range which and which segment is for rakyat and for advancement/competitiveness.

Proton cannot be forever produce cheap cars for malaysian only.

hey guys, just wanted to ask those who have tried it. Hows the front feel when going over bumps on the road?

I dont mean pot holes, but more like those patched-up tar roads where god and the local council has completely forsaken the area.

It's the fan. It's normal bro. You can feel the warm air from under the car.
