Booked mine already..Premium Atlantic Blue. Test drove it after the launching last Saturday and compared to my Preve test drive last year (pre ECU/TCU remapping I guess), it's much more responsive and no dashboard vibration. The engine noise is somewhat less noisier than Preve and the CVT noise is still there but this time i think it's low-pitch compared to Preve's high-pitch CVT whine. The tyres are a bit noisy though. Anybody who test drove this car thinks the same? But still, all of these are acceptable to me since I'm upgrading from a Kelisa. hehe

QUOTE(hariznordin @ Aug 30 2013, 02:38 PM) Looks are not important to me.. Just want a full review for preve turbo and suprima.. Out of 5 stars of each category..Tq Performance **** (rides like a 2.0, no complaints here)Ride & Handling ***** Refinement **** (really like the leather interior, would have bought the Preve last year if they have this option) Buying & Owning (not sure yet) Quality & Reliability (need to see in the long term, but the 5 years warranty would probably nudge you to this car) Safety & Security ***** Behind The Wheel **** Space & Practicality ***** (for me) Equipment ***** (5 stars for value-for-money) You have to take my opinion with a pinch of salt though, I haven't driven many conti/jap/korean cars to give it a fair assessment. It's better if you test drive the car first. BTW, I'm getting my Blue SS today if my SA can get it registered and get the road tax by the end of the day |

QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Aug 30 2013, 04:13 PM) I went to the JPJ myself early in the morning. Registered the car, and got the plate number. Gonna pick up the car after work. Damn, I'm too lazy to register the car myself |

QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Aug 30 2013, 05:22 PM) Tu la. What free gift did the SA offer u? I will get Touch n Go with Smart tag, 3 free service voucher and minyak half tank. kalau by monday tak dapat lagi kereta, I am gonna ask for minyak full tank. He offered me TnG, Smart Tag and minyak (gonna ask for full tank, tak tau dapat ke tak. hehe). Gonna ask for that free service voucher too since you've mentioned it. I did ask for a safety tint or paint coating voucher, kinda pushing it tapi what the hell. |

QUOTE(mystvearn @ Sep 3 2013, 06:59 AM) Damn, that Pioneer HU looks good Btw, weird thing happened when I was inspecting the car at the dealer. Had the boot and hood opened and the engine was running. When I half-shut the driver's door, the central lock was activated. Luckily the boot was opened, my SA had to climb in from the boot to open a rear passenger's door (both keys were in the car). He's not sure why the central lock was activated. Is this normal? If it's a standard BCM/safety function what's the logic behind it? |

QUOTE(aus866 @ Sep 3 2013, 05:05 PM) Handling 5 stars? Preve still better...to me On handling I think they're both more or less the same, and for space I think it's acceptable although I didn't measure the intrusion (I based my rating on feel only..hehe). Drove around for a while with 3 adults at the back and everybody seems to be comfortable. And boot space is big enough for me.Space 5 stars? Did you measure the intrusion of the wheel arches? QUOTE(mat79 @ Sep 3 2013, 06:25 PM) Yup, interior space also acceptable (spacious and comfy) for me.. But like I said in my review, you have to take it with a pinch (or fist...hehe) of salt as I haven't driven many contis/japs/koreans to give it a fair assessment. At the end of the day most reviews you read are based on the reviewers relative comparison with other makes. Whether it's a safety function or a bug? |

QUOTE(mystvearn @ Sep 5 2013, 08:23 PM) Does anyone know or any owners know what is that 5 year warranty is? What are the T&C? It's the same as Preve. 5 years/150000km whichever comes earlier and you have to get every service done at Proton SC. 10 years for power window, 5 years for engine and gearbox (IIRC), 1 year for battery etc....also got 3 years warranty for something else, cant remember from the manual. Not mentioned on the proton edar website. |

QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Sep 6 2013, 12:06 AM) My impression so far, after five days. I'm ok with the engine noise, but the wind noise is apparent when driving >120km/h. Thinking of getting after market insulation for this. I want to drive fast quietly When you stopped at the traffic light and started moving, for the first few seconds, the engine is noticeably louder, and takes a little effort to accelerate. But after maybe 6 to 7 seconds, it would become smooth again. Driving on the highway is f***ing awesome! I really enjoyed it, the meter showed 6.5 litre per 100KM when I drove on the highway. The leather seat is really awesome. I actually spent quite some time just lepak and tidur tidur ayam in my car. I have clocked about 380KM in the past five days, and spent about RM80 for that. Average fuel consumption on the car showed 11.1 litre per 100KM for now. The GPS works really well, my only complain is the resistive screen is a bit annoying because I believe many people are used to the convenience of having a responsive capacitive screen. I tried connected my phone to the car's bluetooth and surprisingly I can answer call, and talk on the phone without holding it. I tried calling my friend with it, and he could hear me crystal clear. I can't find where the mic is located in the car, but it sure is a nice feature to be talking on the phone while driving, without holding the phone or handsfree equipment etc. Nonetheless, the problem is his voice didn't come out from the car's speaker. I think there must be some setting options underneath the android console that I have to tinker with, to make it work. Will give feedback further when I find it. Auto-wiper feature is very nice, as it will adjust the speed of the wipers, according to the severity of the rain. Heavier rain= faster wiper. Rain stopped= wiper instantaneously halt its operation. Nice Auto-folding side mirror is also another neat feature of this car. It would auto-fold when you press the lock-button on your key fob, sparing you the effort to try opening the car door, to ensure that you have indeed locked the car. By the way, not having a dedicated boot release button is not a problem at all. (Paultan's Hafriz Shah complained about that thing). Just press the unlock button on your key fob for a little wee longer, and there you go, the boot opens. I don't really know much about cars in general, so I can't really give a technical review for you guys. The only thing that I don't like about this car now? Its noticeable engine noise. Apart from that, it is a really beautiful car, well-designed, and make people turn around when you drive pass them. Ride and handling is superb, as expected from Proton/Lotus, and I really enjoyed riding it when I melalui selekoh-selekoh tajam. To be honest, I am still a wee bit skeptical with the quality of a proton product, but I am willing to give it the benefit of doubt, at least this time around. I hope it won't disappoint me. I will write more when I find something interesting/faulty about this car. QUOTE(Boy96 @ Sep 6 2013, 01:55 AM) How about the auto headlights? Do they work properly? Mine is pretty sensitive, it turns on even in a short tunnel or early evening (after 6.30pm). But I turn it off when I'm in a basement parking (segan la..hehe), i think the DRL is enough.Because Ive seen many Preve CFE light is still off eventhough inside tunnel/basement parking or in rain |

QUOTE(dares @ Sep 10 2013, 10:59 PM) I wonder why since Proton went for the electronic boot release, they didn't also put a button on the hatch itself like Contis and certain Japanese cars. To cut cost? Since you have already enough options to open the boot (key fob and driver side switch). And the scenario where you have to open the boot through the rear seats are quite rare (your battery won't die on you every other day unless you're an idiot who leaves the lights on all the time). Also I may have read somewhere about people bashing Proton for using old school boot release and wanted electronic for the "premium-ness". Proton can never win Even the Myvi have a (cable operated) latch on the hatch so that users can open the boot without having to use the remote or open the driver side door. Just a personal preference. Probably if Proton did that they will be bashed as well when ppl complain the boot will then be able to be opened from the outside.... Btw, my boot is a bit hard to open even after I released it (by both key fob and switch). It was easier the first couple of days. Now I had to push the key fob button and pull the boot at the same time. Need to get SC have a look at it during 1k service. Hmm..this is the kind of fit and finish issues Proton really need to work on. You can't just compete with other global automakers with performance and ride and handling alone. At the end of the day overall user experience including the small things matters a lot. |

Did my first service today. Fixed my boot latch problem (adjust alignment) and glove box alignment. The SC recommended the service interval at 5k instead of 10k for new cars <20k and only switch to fully synthetic (10k) after that. I followed that. What do you guys think?
