No idea about the PUMA brand, but the air tank is supposed to prevent the quick overheating, as the compressor fills up the tank first, then cuts off. It only comes back on when the tank's pressure drops below a certain level.

U might wanna check with the shop on how long can u switch it on continously before it overheats. My Sparmax that I got from Venus Arts, I was advised by the uncle there to only run it for 15 minutes at a time. So u can use that 15 minutes for without an air tank to judge if the running time's alright or not.
*
Yup, he told me that it has to be switched off after 15minutes using it. I come across my fren who is a relative of venus art's owner, he told me that Sparmax air compressor with air tank is around RM700+. How about those they sell in Grafiti @ BTS? Any feedbacks?

I can bring back AB if anyone want one, but I am not going back to Malaysia till next year.

Not sure if by airmail would be another good option, afraid of customs might tax u if they open up the box. may be u can find out if AB is tax free like computer parts or not.
*
Wah got to wait that long. My neck lng liau. cry.gif Can deliver by airmail but the cost maybe expensive. Maybe expensive than the AB. sad.gif I think the custom won't tax the item even with the compressor. Cause it sent by individual not company. Second, the price receipt can put it lower if kena tax not that much. Third you can unpack the item, and send it as repair item. So when the person collect the item, he can explain that the item is repair and send it back to here. tongue.gif

I think I saw this compressor before. It got a tank and whole compressor is red color. But it running in piston type. quite noisy. With 15min got to off it, I think better don't buy it. When concentrade on spraying modeling, you will feel troublesome everytime got to swith it on and off that frequence.

hmm.. if its just 15 minutes with an air tank, then its not really worth it, as my Sparmax without an air tank runs for the same duration too. U might wanna check with the Venus Art's ppl on how long that Sparmax with the air tank can run for.

A compressor should be able run at least 8hr. It actual is not running continueslly. But on and off. When the tank is full it will stop till the pressure down and start again. That is why it can run long hr. My one even can run 24hr non stop!

Sure bro. Thanks in advances. rclxms.gif But Rm50 postage is kinda cheap. Is it normal postage? That would be a bid dangerous, Anytime can lost when arrive in malaysia. If using those DHL, TNT or Federal xpress is safer. But come with a price. Hei bro, can I choose the model and check it out for me? rclxm9.gif

I come across this ab set that grafiti sells, it comes with ab, hose and the air compressor. Its a worth buying set i guess. I think its kinda suitable for most beginners as it switches off automatically. So it wont get overheat easily.

i do hav 2 frens that used the compressor that grafiti sell...

after 2-3 months....no more using that...reason? the compressor running, n very very low pressure output, then sent to shop for repair..no sparepart...

so think twice. sweat.gif

Fyire, I think ur sparmax compressor should be d same with mine.. but mine bought from Tamiya, mini 1 without airtank. I didnt know anything about -only run for 15 minutes at a time. So wat will happen after 15 minutes?

I found my Airbrush will splash out water after using for a while... At first i thought is my AB got Clog.. SO d real reason it splash water is bcause d compressor overheated is it? blink.gif blink.gif

I got another question.. Today i try Handbrush my toys using Mr Metalic COlour- lacquer type.. It is damn hard to use... Even when I want to wash my Brush + dice oso takes lots of effort.. By d way im using ZIPPO fluid...

Mr Metalic colour + zippo + Mr retarded Milo -- hand brush.

I have nvr try AB using lacquer paint bcause im afraid it might clog my AB VERY easily.. n forever GONE~ pls advice me on how to AB using lacquer paint pls icon_question.gif

And comparing lacquer paint and acrylic... Lacquer is muc more durable compare to acrylic.. Am i right?
