From the XZU promo video by Sony, where the lady sat on the sofa and opened the flip-case, and the XZU turned on by itself. If you read the specs of the dock, they have special adapters for the cover too.

oh tat one.. looks like a smart cover kind of flip case tat got segment one.. i like this sleep/wake cover better than others.. but now i still dunno wan to buy or not >< very tempting.. but i need to fork out 1k if i trade in my s4 ><

guys the call volume is not too soft what. i just called my wife on max volume sounded good, albeit a little softer than note 2, but it's acceptable to me.

Can hardly hear in KLCC or any other place with noisy background . Went back to Sony Center and they gave me 1 to 1 exchange since it's a presale and not suppose 2 be selling and therefore , cant go to Sony to claim warranty or check . After the 2nd unit exchanged , still the same problem for me . Guess I am getting old and deaf so I sold it .

Perhaps wait til the LTE version is out, then there 'could' be a price drop for the '3G' version. After using iPhone 5 and HTC One, it's hard for me to even consider plastic phones, and rumour has it that even the Note III is plastic, so no issue to get this XZU. Unless Samsung sees consumer trend towards metal build phones as something that they should look into, Samsung might just consider emergency mass-production of a metal build Note III (which I surely will consider!)

The size is good to use with an external keyboard. Hope it can work with my Apple Wireless Bluetooth keyboard though.

There should be a noise-cancelling mic on the XZU, right? So even in noisy background, the earpiece should be quite good in performance. Haven't tested it myself but will check on it once I get my XZU.

Yup , got the option . However , that is for me to speak and the other party to listen clearer , am I right ? My problem is when the other party speaks , I cant really make out what is she/he talking unless i moved to somewhere quieter . . Anyway , that option is ticked so I ran out of options 2 increase the volume unless it can be rooted and I can mess around with the build.prop . Till then , better let it go .

One Max and Note III won't have the raw sex appeal of the XZU for sure. Other than that, yeah definitely also looking forward to what those 2 upcoming phablets have to offer.

But I can tell you why HTC One will likely lose to the XZU right now:-
- Colour vibrancy loses to Triluminos
- BoomSound Speakers confirm win XZU
- Sense 5 looks good, but really bad in actual usage until the point of it annoying me. It is a mess and is not designed for user-friendliness even though it may give such a first impression. BlinkFeed is for novelty only and you would rather use individual apps in the end.
- Battery standby time is quite poor.
- Camera is terrible. Even if iPhone 5 has a 4MP sensor, it would still beat this Ultrapixel by miles away. Again, 4MP sensors should never be considered. I normally use my phone for scanning documents and taking notes written on large white-boards. This does not go well at all with the poor resolution of the Ultrapixel camera since I need to zoom into the photos for extra detail.
- Full aluminum build especially the back makes the phone too prone to scratches and even chipping/dents if dropped. A metal phone is supposed to be strong, but you need to handle this like a baby. XZU design is more practical.
- For such a small battery (2300mah) charging time is unacceptable - taking close to 3 hours or more to charge.

HTC One lasts longer for me definitely. iPhone 5 battery life acceptable only, but not a problem for me since the charging time is SUPER fast. For example, if I forgot to charge my HTC One and I will be out and about the whole day, that's it! The XZU should be able to charge fast due to the Qualcomm dual-channel charging, which HTC has smartly / stupidly disabled in their HTC One.
