QUOTE(tenno @ Jun 14 2006, 11:31 AM)
I wash all my gloves after each use. If U go to keeper's websites, most of them will recommend washing the gloves after every use. It will make the latex last longer, & it will provide U with a clean latex surface for every game. I wash my gloves with "sabun buku", just rub a little soap on it, then I use "berus sabut", the normal laundry brush, not the plastic ones. Some gloves U can clean by just rubbing it under running water (like my Puma KSL). To dry it, I put some newspaper on the insides, let it dry naturally.

Gloves with hard latex palm lasts long, but don't grip as well as soft or supersoft latex. But if U play futsal, where U catch the ball less, then hard latex is suitable. Moisten the palm before use to make it soft and makes the latex lasts longer

All the gloves listed above comes with at least 4mm palm. Usually manufacturers will use 3mm palm for the cheaper versions of the expensive glove. Example : Nike Vapor Grip 3 uses 4mm Contact foam, while the Grip 3 uses 3mm.

Found some interesting pics, let see if i can post them here.

Hello everyone! Goalie is 1 of my fav. post too, but not as pro as you all lar, lol. Only playing futsal lately since there are not enough players for big field. By the way, I'm from K.K. biggrin.gif

Anyone has injured his finger after trying to save a close range power shot? I've injured my finger after trying to save the shot but it still went in, sigh. And the futsal ball is heavier than regular football which make it even more painful. cry.gif

By the way, which glove is recommended for futsal use?

Hi there, welcome to the Goalie's thread.

My middle right finger has been injured since like...March, it only felt okay a couple of weeks ago, when I realized I could play without taping my finger. My right pinky was fractured without my realizing it, kept on playing, now couldn't get it straight.

For futsal, any gloves will do, the issue would be durability. So dun get those supersoft palm ones, won't last U a month. Buy those with hard palm, U dun really catch the ball in futsal.

Guys, I think I've pretty much covered all the gloves worn by World Cup keepers. So now I'ma post action pics.

Actually there's one type of training where you train to stiffen your finger muscles. Not sure but you have to keep your finger 'hard' at all times. Indirectly your finger muscles will act as a finger protection system.

Btw I saw one Puma gloves that comes free with a CD. Some goalkeeping clinic thingy la...with buffon's photo tongue.gif

The CDs very old one la. I got one when I bought my King SL, it was 2003 CD. The CD of Buffon & Robinson. Robinson was still using Puma then, before switching to Nike. But still, it contains some useful info & training methods, tips, etc.

and i heard taping your fingers can decrease injuries, acting like fingersave. can any1 post it up? last time i used to get sprains but now dont have, maybe it means im saving less and less sweat.gif sweat.gif

Couldn't find any of the action pics from Czech Repulic vs. Ghana, the best game so far I guess. Petr Cech showed why he is rated the best keeper in the world. Too bad he couldn't save his country from the defeat. Makes me really itchy now to get his gloves.

If any of U guys watched the M-League Premier Cup final between Malacca Telecom and Kedah, both the keepers, Megat Amir Faisal (Kedah) and V.Murugan was using Lotto G-Force.

arsenwagon: U sure the Tiempo Match is RM29? I think it's RM59.90. Anyways, it's an okay glove to buy.

Lot of time ah ? No la, I just feel I need to take really good care of my gloves since I can't afford too many. I usually finish training at 10pm, then get home by 11pm. I clean my gloves, boots & jersey before having my dinner la, otherwise I won't clean them at all.
