Superb performance by Rooney against Chelsea...even his tackling is very good when helping the defense..The CB duo of veteran Rio and Vida also very compose at the backline...wish they can maintain their performance in every game and pray for injury-free

dull 0-0 draw, ready to switch back to old United styles - grab as much points as possible from weaker team and so so against the big one

JM's strange idea of playing the false 9 formation must be his way of telling Rooney that "I need striker like you, mine all cannot harap".

But it is also an indication for him that "I can win without playing you" hmm.gif

Anyhow, if he wants to go, the only offer I will listen (if I am DM) is that Chelsea swap Mata with us + cash, or RM comes knocking and does a Ozil + *Modric combo.

Agreed. Be it 1-0 or 2-1, a win is a win. We won quite a number of 1-0's last season, as long as 3 points is in the bag rclxm9.gif

Haven't watch the highlights yet, but from what I have read so far, Wazza had a very good game, if not great. Getting back to what he does best. Getting really involved from back to front. He is such a force when he is on song, and would be very disappointing if he is sold, especially to United's main rival. Just need other players to click into gear and find their form. Nani, Kagawa and Rooney on form is just awesome. No need to say much about RvP, although we can rely too much on him. It is still early in the season, and United will click into gear and smooth operation in due time. Even the smooth Dortmund engine is finding it hard in the first two games.

Fellaini might not be the world-class player or big star signing that United fans would love, but he would be useful as midfield cover which would let players like Cleverley strive in the final third. I like Clev but I don't think he is there yet playing in the middle.

I would love Bale to come to United, but only if the purchase does not
hinder the team, as we all already know United need a new midfielder. tongue.gif Be it buying or bringing in from the reserves/youth team.

To get Rooney into the team, Giggs was left out and Welbeck was moved over from the centre to the left, which was a bit unfair on him. Welbeck was terrific in the Rooney role against Swansea last week but he is not a winger.

He was always drifting in from the left against Chelsea, which meant United did not have a threat on that flank either. When they played went through the middle, both teams cancelled each other out.

Stupid comment. I watched the Swansea game too and basically Welbeck was in the exact same position in both games. Only difference is that he didn't rotate with Rooney as much as he did with Giggs. However, he did rotate with RvP for a bit. The thing is RvP, Welbeck, Kagawa and Rooney are such good players that they can easily rotate around the striker/AM/winger role. They are all capable of playing in those 3 spots. Yes, they have positions that they are better in but doesn't mean that they can't rotate around to cause some confusion in the backline.

Bore draw...no clear cut chances at all except Welbeck's chance but as usual he stumble and shot wide and his decision making is really get in my nerves. He pass when he suppose to shoot and he shoot when he suppose to pass...i admit he got the great abilities physically but mentally he is not very clever

I'm kinda sick of Mourinho being all high and mighty. He's speaking like he is some sort of football king, demanding this and that. Saying he is only 'giving' rooney '24-48hours'. Sheehs. Mind games indeed.

Anyyyyways, hope Roo stays. he is vital. smile.gif I'm clinging hope, 1 more signing would be lovely.
