no u cant flash malaysia firmware coz its old than mg4 firmware..yes u can flash any custom rom based on stock rom...but if u want to flash cm10/slimbean any other aosp rom u need to flash mg2 modem too

After download I flash using odin 'PDA' , after that boot into recovery factory reset and clear cache then restart .
should be fix , see ur imei is it there or becore other number

first follow what wilsonjack228ask u to do...if still emergency call pls check your imei? .....if not change try make new apn in network setting...

If you want to use other ROM, you can as long as you still stay on this modem as your EFS is now v2. See this link for the XXEMG4 modem flashable zip.

Good Morning all, i have done the steps that wilsonjack told and it still emergency call only...my phone IMEI is still there, nothing change.

Does your phone rooted..?
If rooted..try use SGS CSC Flasher app from market and see if you can change your CSC

So to be specific , when ever I flash any rom I need to use the XXEMG4 Modem . If theres any newer firmware higher than XXEMG4 would I still need yo use back the old one?
