You can stop nukes... Just build the missile defense buildings.

Was trying out Hard for the first time just now and damn, and the AI was kinda sneaky. Kept sending T1 units to their doom in my base, while I slowly built my army up (Which was mostly gunships and air sup fighters)... Then a Monkeylord came into the picture and I was GG.
*
yea i know we can stop it, but the missile defense costs alot of resources, the AI for some reason gets the nuke very fast.

a monkeylord did also owned me, suddenly out of nowhere at the back...boom, gg, but then while the monkey lord was attacking the stupid AI sent a nuke right on top of it destroying his own spider which was only there for like about 2 sec. LOL.

Best thing to do with the Hard AI is to harass it's resource buildings early. I've never had a nuke drop on me in the game, except that one time I nuked my own base by accident. How long do you guys play for, on average per game?

Beta Closes on Feb. 12, Supreme Commander Opens Soon

All good things must come to an end. But in this case, the end is actually the beginning! The Supreme Commander Multiplayer Beta will be closed at 5 p.m. Pacific (8 p.m. Eastern, 1 a.m. GMT) on Feb. 12, 2007.

After the closure, you will not be able to properly connect to GPGnet without a retail version of Supreme Commander and a valid product key. Supreme Commander goes on sale in the next several days -- please check with your local retailer for exact dates in your country/state/area.

Please note the following, as it contains important information about your copy of the beta and your beta account.

Final Weekend Gameplay

This weekend is your final chance to play beta games. After the closure, you will be unable to connect to GPGnet and use the beta for GPGnet gameplay.

We encourage as much gameplay as possible this weekend, as we are still gathering data about server performance and statistics reporting, right up to the very last minute.

Stay on the lookout for GPG admins - they'll be playing as many games as possible. We are also particularly interested in Arranged Team games.

Removing the Beta from your System

After the beta closure and before you purchase Supreme Commander, GPG strongly recommends you completely remove all Supreme Commander and GPGnet components from your system. There are known issues with very early versions of the beta that interfere with correct installations of the retail version. Also, beta replays are incompatible with the retail version. While we believe that the installation problem affects only several hundred of the 40,000+ beta players, we recommend a complete removal for all users, just to be sure.

Instructions for Completely Removing the Supreme Commander Multiplayer Beta

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Remove the Supreme Commander Beta. When prompted during the uninstall process, check the box to remove all related data (GPGnet, save games, replays, etc).
Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs again
Verify that GPGnet has been removed. If it hasn't, remove it via this window.
Go to the install directory - by default in Windows XP, this is C:\Program Files\THQ\Gas Powered Games
Delete the Beta and GPGnet directories
Check if there are any other GPGnet or Supreme Commander directories in alternate locations (e.g. C:\Program Files\Gas Powered Games or any other directory you may have used for Supreme Commander) and delete those directories if they exist.
Verify that all replay files are deleted. By default in Windows XP, they are saved in Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\GasPoweredGames\SupremeCommander\replays
Verify that all game stats xml files are deleted. By default in Windows XP, they are stored in My Documents.

Hey, Can I Keep my Beta Account Name?

Many people have asked us can they keep their beta account name. They're really attached to it, they want to make sure no one else gets there first, they worked really hard to get just the right l33t-hax0r spelling of your nickname.

Well, we heard you!

Beta accounts will be ported over to the retail server, under the following conditions:

Only those accounts showing activity within the last 30 days will be ported over. If you haven't logged in to GPGnet within the past 30 days of the beta closure date, your beta account will be gone. If you want your sooper-special game name back after that point, you have to re-create it yourself with a retail version of SupCom, and then it's first-come, first-served.
Your rating and game records will NOT be ported over. Everyone starts at the default rating and a 0-0 win/loss record.
If your account was ported over, upon your purchase and installation of Supreme Commander, you will be able to login with your account name and password you used for the beta.

If your account is not available ("could not find that account" message), then it was not ported over and cannot be retrieved. You may elect to re-create it.

Sorry, there are no exceptions to the above conditions.

yeap, SupComm will be out soon.

also, i'd like to announce that there will be a localised version for SupComm in Malaysia by New Era. This localised version will be cheaper, RM 79.90 and will be in English!

however, this localised version will be available about 2 weeks after the official launch due to the holidays.

exact launch details are scarce but i'll update everyone once i have details.

I believe they did the same thing with dawn of war. The game itself is untouched, but the box and manual is in malay me thinks.

Have a few of the "localised" version of dawn of war lying around in the office. I think it says senja peperangan or something like that. If its cheaper, they can put anything they want on the box, IMO. Just dont translate the game. That would be so wrong... tongue.gif

It means, the local distri "localize" the game itself. The difference is just that, not oh so fancy package and normally, the manual is in local famous language. But it's good that sup com local edition manual is in English... grab it while you can.

I'm all OVER this.

Is there any offer on the Collector's Edition or anything like that? What's in those things anyway? Haven't been checking up on that.

Yes its true! SupCom doesn't hate old PC gamers!

My specs are:
Athlon 64 3000+
1GB RAM
Radeon 9800XT

I highly doubt this system will be able to stand online play on some of the larger maps as the game does tend to slowdown once the total unit count reaches 600-700 (Both you and your enemy)

the localised SupComm won't have a malay name like Dawn of War, it will look like the Thai version.

thai versions have no changes to the title, only the manual and text on the back of the box.

so it WONT be Komander Agung this time around.
