Im not playing any alpha versions.Im still playing the demo.

I think im still playing this great game. It's what i want all these while but it will take sometime to get used to it after playing so many micro intensive games like CoH and DC.Im really not used to a macro intensive game.

Oh ya... after thinking for a while the detail arent really important cause most of the time im using the zoom out mode too.Details doesnt really matter when you are looking far a way but i'll miss the fancy terrain scarring.Everything looks like a bunch of pixels only. How to play with the closest zoom?Cant really see anything.

The main thing is at least my com can run this game at minimum, unlike some of my friend's com which cant even start the game at all.

I hope it's further optimized in the full retail version, far better than the demo.No wonder it lags on my com lags in the campaign when i have lots of planes flying around.Im playing on the default setting, btw.

Mine was still ok despite the amount of planes around and a masive battle, but playing with com kinda bores me. Cos no massive battle.

Sure,my "lousy" rig:

AMD Athlon 64-bit 3000+ 2.0GHz(Venice Core,if im not wrong)
Gigabyte nVidia Geforce 6600GT 128MB
1x Kingston DDR PC400 512MB RAM }
2x Corsair DDR PC400 512MB RAM }Total 1.5GB
Maxtor 120GB SATA Hard Disk
Some sort of K8N or KN8 Asus Motherboard, without SLi.

My rig almost reach the recommeded specs but my GC failed me.I'll depend on system requirement lab to tell me how much my com can take this beast,

I really hope that benchmark for the demo is wrong. The retail version must perform better in older coms.

Oh ok... Was wondering why you mentioned Full Version and with all the leaked versions flying here and there, one jumps to conclusions.

Anyway, I noticed that in the campaign missions, the detail is sometimes NOT turned down (Shadows remain despite being switched off).

Anyhoo, at time of release, the beta was still ongoing, so there might be some improvements before its release.

Strange, why mine lag?One more thing, for some unknown reason, all my new units just move or fly to the south of the map for no reason in the campaign.

I do agree, playing with com is kinda boring. No massive battle.

I think Supreme Commander is going to live up to the reputation of being as demanding as TA when TA came out. Last time you need 64 MB of ram minimum to run the largest of maps. Now I think you'll going to need something like 3GB?Quad Core? Geforce 9900GT? PS3?

I notice you still have to micro this game while I was playing with the galaxy class crusers when u position it perpendicular to the enemy it has double fire rate cos both ur main guns can fire when its perpendicular to the target.

I dont think 64MB can run largest TA map.. some need 128MB and some need 96MB. I still have the game in my old PC and still playing it..

IINM, at the time of its release only 64MB maps were available (These were monstrosities at a time when 32MB was considered high end). Only after Core Contingency did they bring in the 128 MB ones.

Well look on the bright side, at least it doesn't take forever to load like in the original TA biggrin.gif

ah finally after 2 skirmish rounds, i have beaten the Hard AI, the key is to get any one of the Experimental Units before them, send it in, and theyre as good as dead.

btw, i just tried the mobile rapid artillery, its range+firepower is OMFG WTF???

alot of imbalanced units in the game.

Well, the game is design to use multi core processor. It's been mentioned there is big dif between single core and multi core in term of performance.

Developer also mention the AI routine will change according the hardware resources. That's mean the more unit you build the dumber the unit will become if your processor is slow or low RAM.

Just finish the campaign and few skirmishes.

The game is freaking scary even in demo. Very additive.

Comparing TA and SupCom, i feel like it is the same except for the new camera feature. I just found out something.. T3 builder and T2 builder cant build T1 buildings sweat.gif

I think can, you just have to click on 'tier 1' tab on the left of the building queue.

I think the AI is quite dumb Ive got like 40 torpedo turrets in the watter and it still sends its monkey into the water and get destroyed and it only sends then one by one not in bulk. The gunships are also quite weak against air units 10 superior fighter can ta pau the experimental gun ships.

Still have not tried getting nuke by the com yet, are those anti-missile defences useful against nuke and normal missle attacks?

Yeah this game is really addictive been playing hours and hours though its still in Demo stage.

Well during the E3 preview, there was this massive battle with like 4 of them... That would be bulk I guess tongue.gif

Anyway, the Aeon and UEF experimental units are far more cooler than the Cybrans. The caveat though is that the UEF ones are SUPER expensive while the Aeon ones are kinda wimpy.

UEF has the super heavy artillery installation. Well, for TA veterans, you know the Buzzsaw? The rapid firing Bertha? Yeah, this is that, but its range is HUUUUUUUGE. Its also the most expensive item in the game IINM.

Then there's the mobile factory, which is kinda cool as it builds T2 units really fast. Plus, its got artillery cannons up the wazoo. Not much health though.

Aeons have the flying fortress (Remember the UFOs from the movie Independence Day? Yeah, THAT but faster) and a giant walking robot. biggrin.gif
