i hv 2 hdd now , 1 installed with window 7 258gb while the other 1 is 1tb act as storage only. the 258gb hdd has problem bcuz it's over 5-6 years old alrdy so i dont plan to use it. im just gonna use single boot on window 8.1 . btw what do u mean by "better yet, just clean up the os/system/recovery partitions on the hdd first to avoid boot issues if you don't know how to handle it." ?
*
Previousy i made an assumption that you only have 1x 1tb hdd that acted as boot and storage drive. Leaving old system partitions as is sometimes create messy situations to users that are not familiar with os installs. My bad smile.gif

thanks for the heads up smile.gif the simplest way to remedy this is just rma it.

side notes: for those who are worried about privacy (data cannot be wiped before rma due to various reasons. it's actually a security risk), you can start practicing whole disk encryption if you haven't done so. i use bitlocker to encrypt my drives. (especially internal and external drives that contain sensitive data) well, i do more than that for sensitive data. bitlocker alone is not that safe but it should be fine for situations like rma. also, always makes multiple backups of your data (usually important ones only).

There are always risks. Almost all brands that we know had some bad days smile.gif

Lol! How did samsung do that?

Maybe you should consider plextor and crucial also.

then get crucial drives. actually for new crucial ssds they have changed the tbw according to capacity, to be more reasonable now.

for some reasons mx200 is acting weird (based on reviews) but you still have options like bx100, mx100 and m550.

Liteon? Never heard of them got make SSD, I only use their DVDRW ROM before. Liteon is OEM made SSD or what? hmm.gif

Edit: Which I should get? Got LITE-ON 240GB & LITE-ON 900S 256GB (M5PRO), how long the warranty offer, and I'm not based in KL, warranty claim concern here. hmm.gif

Judging from the name LITE-ON 900S 256GB (M5PRO), it does looks like Plextor rebrand. But what about the LITE-ON 240GB?

Not sure about that but seem like liteon SSD is not a famous brand here, many recommend 900S because it is a rebrand model from the previous high end series ssd M5pro from plextor, plextor had just launched a new high end series few months ago known as M6Pro.

I don't mind buy the rebrand products as long it was as good as the original one. Problem is, not sure which to get, as I decided to swap my HDD inside Notebook with the SSD.
