well, modding is an art... and there's many degree of modding, for cosmetics, for performance, for entertainment... etc...

while i'm also no keen on modding, but some "cosmetics add ons like bodykit/spoiler" to a car do improve the over all appearance of the car... usually those come together with the original manufacturer are good enough... at least for me... smile.gif

If it come from manufacturer like M5 b/kit from BMW and buy with the car then I like but then I got see car shop throw away 7 series bonnet just to put c/fibre wan make me want to cry cry.gif

savvy AMT got loud sound like "kruk" "kruk" when changing gear..this is due to normal Proton AT fluid being used instead of ELF Renaultmatic D3..the ELF fluid can be found at any spart part shops...it's advisable to change to elf AT fluid.

RM65 for 2 litres

PLS take note many already got confused about this - Savvy AMT use 2 kind of fluid for their transmission, the normal gearbox oil and AMT/AT fluid (ELF Renaultmatic D3, not really AT fluid we usually hear of, it's for the robotic clutch lubricant).

Savvy MT only use the gearbox oil.

The kruk kruk sound is the changing of the gears right by the robot?

What gearbox oil does AMT use and can i get the renault Elf oil from any service
centers?

Is it advisable to change the AMT lubricant since i just got my savvy? I would prefer it to safe than sorry.

Look at the pics....

Savvy AMT use
Gearbox oil: ELF TRANSELF TRJ 75W80
AMT lubricant: ELF RENAULTMATIC D3 SYN

Savvy MT only use
Gearbox oil: ELF TRANSELF TRJ 75W80

easier to see? Both oils are avalaible at any spare part shops..if you AMT feels rough when changing gears better change asap.

Faulty ignition coil: Another problem that seem to be affecting some savvy users due to incompetence of SC when installing spark plugs...let me remind you guys who plan to change their spark plugs at 40k service interval, ask the SC to ensure the plugs are installed correctly!
heard Proton already sent memo to all SC regarding this issue.

Symptoms: Engine misfiring, engine shaking, only 3 cylinders running.

Reason: Breakage of ceramic insulation at the end of the spark plug connectors( one or more).

How to solve it: Use insulation tape to wrap the affected part or use Iswara cable plug connector/supressor to replace the faulty connector at a fraction of cost, only less than RM5 (RM500 for the whole unit!!!). Much cheaper so dun have to replace the whole unit as advised by Proton cos they only want to earn money.

DIY spark plug connector replacement using Iswara's connector.

Savvy's ignition coil set.
