if u ask a fellow that use to drive those super performance + luxury car to review a development country product, for sure is unfair ...

btw, instead of bash it, clarkson should blow it up like what he did to pity kelisa

anyway...just want to check..is the timing belt for savvy cost around RM1k??..and need to change every 60k mileage..??.

they bashed savvy because proton claimed it as "my first lotus" as it is not actually.

THose people who take his statement literraly..just a sarcastic remark about the lotus claim like my postings which dumb people could not comprehend.

In fact JC liked Savvy design..at least preferable.

60k km change.. the original from Proton is RM516.74 complete with bearings part# 7701473001... labour around RM100...heck more or less same like other crs, kancil and kelisa need to angkat engine so labour is much more expensive.

just to get you corrected..changing timing belt in kelisa/kenari no need to angkat engine. The only time need to angkat is change clutch(heck some never angkat as well). so, the maintainence on kelisa is still cheaper as the timing with bearing is only around RM160.

The chart IS WRONG..

Either the brocher is from cutthrout franchised service delaer or photoshopped..

The oil filter and spark plugs price are way out...it does not cost that much.

in that case, i think u better pm the mod there to remove that chart, it is very misleading.

o.0 a lot to say abt savvy eh? the car seems ok to me. the maintainence is obviously more exp due to its continential engine and the quality of plastics can be justified as a m'sian car so no complaints there. handling is in any case a turn for the better at proton and that's their marketing point for the car. there are 2 reasons y i bought another car besides it while i was looking for a car and its due to the looks (subject to individual opinion) and the maintainence. other than that its a good car but the headroom at the back could be higher for taller ppl.

if you think that the head room at the back of the savvy is bad, wait till you take a ride at the back seat of a neo

savvy is still cooler then ferarri enzo...

but at the end of the day, looks dont count for nuts if the car cant perform
