BLM~~ Cool~~ Finally a more than 10years old car is stop produce. Pronton finally going going to replace a new design~ i hope they can create better perfomance and also tough tough product !! <p> a~ one more question about Savvy, do you think i need to install a allow steel at my front and rear bumper, like an extra protection ?? anybody here saw any Savvy did that ?? i believe it heavier the car weight only.
*
Dig up my posts..there's already thick steel impact beam behind the front and rear bumpers...other cars dun have this..definitely miles better than kangaroo bars if that's what you mean - damn soft.

QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 8 2007, 10:12 AM)
What for?? Waste money only....SAvvy is tough enough already mah...(according to Proton..sweat.gif)

Anyway, Savvy is quite heavy already at around 950kg...almost similar weight like a Myvi.

btw, SAGA is 22 years old. Wira is around 15 years old.

Wahlau~~ 22years !!! other car like FIAT only use up to 10years and totally change the car ! i am so so shock about this figure.

Huh the Lite version havent arrive at showroom huh ??? sigh so sad la ~ Subang here  only got one at SS14 if i not mistaken~~ later if got time i will go and check it out !! hehe~~

about how tough is savvy i guess many many accident of savvy can prove already la~ i just dont want to let those minor minor accident damage the car only ~~ but thats no point to add up more thing las
*
Try to find out the info about major car makers also make least developed countries as their dumping ground for old models like Suzuki, Volkswagen etc..Proton at least sell Sagain Pakistan, blame not on Proton but the loopholes on the laws of theroadworthiness of the old modelcars in the country...Proton is being clever take advantageon that..Mitsubishi would be doing the same thing if they have monopoly in the local car market...some people conveniently forget Singapore allows airbagless cars on street and they have HPL for cars up to 10 years.

QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 8 2007, 04:21 PM)
Ahemm...Ahemmm...

The Savvy is the 18th BEST SELLING CAR OF THE YEAR AS AT JUNE 2007.

There.  rclxms.gif

Is the bottle half empty or half full?? smile.gif

I believe they should have >10k units OTR from the info from different salesman. But whether can trust or not i dunno ler..

The most expensive part is the AMT robot...so i advised you not to get the AMT version. Other parts are still reasonable. The recent price drop on parts is also very encouraging. A common problem with Savvy is the ignition coil which used to cost > RM700. Now it's only about RM360.

You can check out more info at savoc.net. Those guys knows everything about Savvy.

From what i can see, the parts are cheaper than my old Kia Sephia....i'll never buy Korean cars again!!!! Damn Kimchis!!!!!
*
The last digits of my chassis no is 077XX, registered on Dec '05..so pretty sure there's more than 10k OTR to date..third party sellers do stock up low demand parts like the ignition coil pack with cables supposedly made in France, cheaper than sold at authorized Proton SCs, if they say they can't get the stock, they are lying...RM360 new price from Proton SC should be cheaper if getting outside.

Service price is not that bad. I've already ordered Amsoil ATM from Frankie you know who the online dealer...can't wait to feel the result of a synthetic oil for the first time.

Service interval
1k- RM40++ (1st service)
5k - RM70++ (oil changed outside with labour, the EON SC mati2 insist Mach 5 could last 10k, that time not confident, already went up genting at about 3k-5k km I dun remember.
10k - Rm80++
20k - RM200++ (labour is RM100, first time used Mach 5 till 10k km, oil filter, skipped air filter, spark plugs change, spark plug change interval is 40k km)
30k - RM200++ (labour RM100)
37k - RM80++ (oil+filter changed outside, felt sluggish)

Future estimate
40k - RM250 ++ (First time use fully synthetic oil, filter, spark plugs, stop sending to authorised SC)
45k - RM 100 (gear oil)
50k - RM190 ( oil, oil lfilter)
55k - RM450 ++ (timing belt kit, bearings, oil seal that could last 100k, labour)
60k - RM190 (oil, oil filter)
70k - RM450 (oil, oil filter, water pump, coolant flush)
80k - RM250 (oil, oil filter, spark plugs)
90k -Rm190 (oil, oil filter)
100k - RM 190 (oil, oil filter)

Extra RM1000 for any parts that need to changed if failed like clutch plate that cost near Rm300, brake oil etc.

Acutally, Savvy is very steady...feels like driving big car...i'm about same height as you...this is not kancil ler friend, you can't shake a Savvy so easily.

The front seats are ok, but if you wanna fit 4 people of same height like you inside....then the two fellas behind will suffer lor. (Btw, i don't think this car is a 5 seater. Max 4 adults inside...if small sized ladies/kids maybe can squeeze 3 behind ler....but only for short journeys or really gonna suffer).

Both Myvi and Savvy are about same weight despite the size difference. (950kg - Savvy, Myvi - 9xxkg).

Hypermount: You're gonna change to full synthetic? I thought there's a thread in savoc.net saying not recommended to use full-synth for savvy?

I haven't decide what oil to use for Savvy yet...if use Mach 5, i'm also scared it can't last 10,000km...maybe semi-synth will be safer bet?

btw, chassis number indicates the # of cars produced? So 77xx, means there's 77xx cars already produced? Then i must check mine and see....smile.gif

Actually Savvy is not all bad... I just don't like the look from outside. Proton should really take consumer cosmetic consideration first cause it is the consumer who gonna buy the car, not them. My friend drive savvy, and yup it's nice. Just outside is.... hehehe! tongue.gif But again, never judge a book by its cover, right guys?? ^__^ When can we see savvy and perodua make a gathering together as in Malaysia One team~!

Yes, I'm getting the AMSOIL ATM today, supposedly after checking the tracking no, RM160 for 3.8litres/4 quarts. Surprised with the POS Malaysia's efficiency, need only 1 day to arrive. Seller only sent the item yesterday. Man this is only normal parcel service, not Poslaju.

NO problem with Savvy using FS. Confirmed by Proton and Pomen on the street Savvy's not using Hydraulic tappets. Some said if the engine has hydraulic tappets, FS is not suitable, cos too thin will create much noise. BUT based on his experience, if you 've extended the mineral oil usage on a hydraulic tappet engine - you will risk damaging the engine..mineral oil has lower viscosity, they tend to thicken as temperature going up. There are many small space, cavities in hydraulic tappets where only FS could go enter and lubricate as their thickness would remain the same, they have higher rate of shear/viscosity.

Should not be a problem if wanna use FS on Savvy. Listen to the experienced people..always get the highest possible quality oil that you could afford if you wanna pamper your car.

EON got stock up some Syntium oil . You can ask them to use other oil other than Mach 5..10W/30 Mach 5 actually has good viscosity index rating - higher a bit then syntium 800 which is a semi..it's a good oil provided you do not rev ur car much...can it last 10k? I dunno..an used oil analysis would provided the definite answer.

Added on August 10, 2007, 12:58 pmThe chassis no is sandblasted on the rear windows, you can look up for it under the drvier's seat besides on ur registration sticker on the manual.

Actually, i like the Savvy design (not because i'd bought one already...)...but the rear was ugly. So the new version got the V thing removed from the rear. Now it's much better. thumbup.gif

But i want VolksWagon logo...not thundercat logo...
