Hi all, any recommendations for putty purchase location (Around PJ)? Besides tamiya brand...wonder if normal putty also suit for plastic kit...quite a large void area to fill and it will be expensive if using all tamiya putty

Depending how big is the gap you want to fill.
Tamiya putty are not expensive, but once open they will eventually dry up and cannot be used.
Unless you use A+B type, there will bound to have shrinkage.
Tamiya putties are good.
But I'm using those white putties sold in Mr.DIY/ACE. 1 small tub under rm10. but they aren't waterproof so you need to paint them after use. if you get the mixture right the shrinkage is same as Tamiya. They are easy to sand. but make sure you cover the lids when not using or else might grow mold. avoid places where people don't buy because those stock are old i bought 1 in The Store open up already have mold.
Hi, I am wondering if there is any shop in Penang that sell styrene sheets. Saw a previous post that Tamiya Underground sells it, that too far for me.
Thanks, starting back this hobby after 20+ years of absence. Still, have some unassembled kits in the store that I want to complete, hopefully before next year.
Hi everyone, I had bought a Tamiya model set which apparently has aged, now I have trouble getting the water slide decals off from the backing paper. They will tear when I try to move them. I have done another 3 Tamiya cars but didnt have this issue.
Have a chance to visit Akiharabara, Tokyo. There is a big toy shop further down the road. TAM TAM Hobby shop. 4th FL and 5th FL. is their shop.
Still quite a lot of model Kits available. But not big consider what I see before back many yrs. The model kits section look like getting smaller.
Many accessory like Airbrush, compressor set are quite cheap. Mostly Taiwan brand. A better quality airbrush and compressor like Tamiya and Mr.hobby also have. Almost grab 1 back.
Airfix is still A Life ! I thought this UK model kits is history already.
Hello guys. I don't know if this is the right thread to post here.
Right now, I'm really need the Gundam Marker Metallic Set as I accidentally scuffed part of the paint on a recently-brought 1/12 Bandai-branded action figure. (Hint: Fullbottles on the belt)
Since I didn't find any of them in nearby hobby shops (I'm in Ipoh, Perak fo Malaysia), I might considering buying the set online but...well, I'm new to online shopping and I have no experience with online shopping at all before. Plus, I don't know if I can trust the sellers on Lelong and Lazada.
Good tutorial for those planning to start airbrush and for those already using, learn how to do pre & post shading!
They're showing good content but I only have 1 complaint. They're lacking a charismatic host/interviewer to carry the video. I literally saw them record this video at ATT lol. Good to see the legendary modellers there.
BTW, I'm going to work on a gloss/candy finish paint project on my next kit. And I need a gloss top coat to seal everything. I also don't wanna use Mr Hobby top coat (too expensive and lacks control). Can someone recommend a gloss top coat? Is pledge future floor care still the go to choice around here?
