Hi sifu2 here, I am not sure where to ask so I put this question at here.
It is normal to get the chrome spray can in the market. (Silver reflective finishing) Do we have any gold chrome spray can in the market? If yes, can you recommend me the brand and the place to buy it? I will spray it on the plastic surface |

Hi guys, I am learning enamel panel lining but can never get a clean result. It dirties the surrounding area when I clean the excess with earbuds.
I would like to build a clean and crisp gundam kit (looking like brand new fresh from the robot factory) but enamel panel lining mess it up. I use tamiya flat color exclusively, with AB and also a final coat of Future, and then humbrol enamel with Zippo lighter fluid for panel lining. |

QUOTE(delroz @ Jun 27 2019, 12:33 PM) Wow fountain pen. This is new to me. Where to get this? Use zippo fluid with cotton bud but do slowly lo. That aside, still wondering how you experts clean the excess properly without creating smudges or over clean it until it attacks the underlying paint. The Ustar pen can get from any hobby store la... |

QUOTE(carpathia @ Jun 27 2019, 12:51 PM) Tried and failed many times. Wondering if I did it wrong. Wrong enamels? Wrong earbuds? Wrong underlying paint? etc...Just did this last week. AB Tamiya flat white and Future coated. Can still see smudges after cleaning. Would gloss underlying paint be better than flat during enamel panel lining? ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(delroz @ Jun 27 2019, 01:14 PM) Tried and failed many times. Wondering if I did it wrong. Wrong enamels? Wrong earbuds? Wrong underlying paint? etc... yes. Normally from what I see pros apply decal, then spray a layer of gloss, then panel line. That way the gloss coat can cover/protect the water delay, and your panel line paint will flow much nicer. I tried panel lining on flat coated surface before, smudges everywhere. If u lazy to reapply i think better just use some thin panel line marker to get the job done.Just did this last week. dear sifus, need some ideas. this is an old HG Eva-01 kit
![]() ![]() how do you fix the seams and paint these legs without disturbing the knee joint? as you can see the joint had already been painted black, the upper and lower legs will enclose the joint. this makes sanding very difficult if i want to avoid touching the knee joint. and also while ab-spraying... do you mask it diligently? wouldn't sanding the upper and lower leg seams disturb the masking tape? or is there another way? completely masking the joint is easy, but how to take it out later? ![]() ![]() same headache here on the arm, the green piece need to fix seams later, how? plus the black part of the forearm is rubber, will masking tape stick properly? anyone built this before? can give some pointers? thanks. |
