Hi all, finally got time and resources to pickup this hobby again after dropping out for 15 (or more) years. Lost touch with all the supplies shop. Was looking for spray can, enamel paint, acrylic paint & etc, I wonder where most of you shop for these supplies? Been to a few places (physical shop), most of them have very limited color choices or don't have stock when they show the listing as 'available' (e-shop). Very frustrating and yet time wasting. I rather spend time with building kit instead... Do shine some lights on a newbie here.

Apology if it's been asked before. I've made some searches but can't find relevant answer.

PS: I'm around Kota Damansara/PJ area. 

Those Mr.Hobby Spray Cans are Super Expensive! Flat results aren't that good easily overspray and smudges. have to check the weather before spraying.

but the can usually need 2 for a 1/100 kit, if you want it real matte, and alot of wastage coz you can't spray close will get smudge.

so Airbrush is much better.

imagine 1 small can cost rm30 (or more), just to top coat will cost you rm60. compared Airbrush is rm10 per bottle which can be used on 2 models at least.

also those that use Airbrush with compressed air cans, i salute you.

dust will hit your model surface when u start spraying.... no matter indoor or out door...or with vacuum box.
Tank compressor is expensive , need maintenance, & if u only need ab for painting modeling kit, why need tank compressor.??
the reason small & mobile compressor become popular is cheap, good for beginner, mobility, durable & no need maintenance (pakai buang).
i paint 1/48 su33 & 1/16 big RC tank with large surface also no problem.
i every month minimum paint 1 box of military kit & up to 5 year & more..my compressor still going good.
it already worth the price.

i saw ppl buying an expensive compressor yet only spraying 1 or 2 kit for a year....end up the compressor collecting dust.

need shops that sell extensive paint stocks, Mr.Hobby, Tamiya, Gaia Notes, Alclad.

prefer physical but online also can. Gundamshop/GWing/Gamer's Arena don't carry much choice.

JSHobby has the most choices but i heard their service is legendary. Also they no longer accept Walk Ins in their physical shop. "Online order collection" only.

Time Machine closed. Now only know the shop in Atria Mall but they carry mainly Tamiya & Mr.Hobby.

on cruxhobby I find Tamiya flat flesh paint is possible for paint skin? but sold out. for gundam.my just cant sent paint to sarawak

Hi guys, I am learning enamel panel lining but can never get a clean result. It dirties the surrounding area when I clean the excess with earbuds.

I would like to build a clean and crisp gundam kit (looking like brand new fresh from the robot factory) but enamel panel lining mess it up.

I use tamiya flat color exclusively, with AB and also a final coat of Future, and then humbrol enamel with Zippo lighter fluid for panel lining.

Wow fountain pen. This is new to me. Where to get this?

That aside, still wondering how you experts clean the excess properly without creating smudges or over clean it until it attacks the underlying paint.
