QUOTE(E Crew @ Oct 6 2013, 10:40 PM) Hello azraeil, my diploma was in mechanical engineering.Recently UTP has opened for registration but they do not offer petroleum engineering and only offer petroleum geoscience.I was in doubt whether is this a good bet or not as it's a very niche area.I am afraid that it would be difficult to get a job in future. In this situation, what would be your advise to me ? word of mouth, utp alone, gets you noticed for interviews compared to others. true story this. BUT at the interview itself, its up to you la, no amount of name can do the magic. unless its a bigg conductor 36" like cable.

QUOTE(alanaw @ Oct 6 2013, 09:45 PM) Anyone here knows the prospect and salary of subsea project engineer as compared to lets say project engineer dealing with fpso. I am a project engineer mostly dealing with metering skid fabrication, thinking that carrying subsea tittle ought to command higher salary, right? Since it is something niche, and knowing that subsea is the segment with higher pay. I am confused about my carrer path. It is advisable to apply for it? aker solution and technip which is better to join?

QUOTE(wywy2020 @ Oct 7 2013, 10:43 AM) aker solution and technip which is better to join? Hint: Technip has been in Msia since 1982. The company HAS NEVER RETRENCHED local staff, despite a few economy downturns that the country had gone through since the 80's. Aker, previously under a few names and different ownerships, has been in Msia since early 1990s. The company had retrenched local staff a couple of times before. You figure out yourself whether you want high salary as a fresh graduate or working stability. This post has been edited by Stamp: Oct 8 2013, 02:36 PM
