sapura seemed to hire mainly engineering technical wise. yawn.gif.

does gom resources provide subsurface services. doesn't see that in their homepage though

Yes more to mechanical/chemical engineering,planning .

GOM Resources is upstream ,they have their own Subsurface Well Delivery team ,that is why they are looking for geophysicist.

You're interested ? or do do you happen to have any friends might be interested ?

Erm, like I'd mentioned most of those positions require years of experience like at least 5. Myself and I think most of others are seeking entry level positions. I think if one were to have 5+years of experience, they would be either be head hunted or have extensive networks and qualifications to secure their desire positions. =.=

And I'm mad serious.  blush.gif

Hi, guys.

I'm a final year Bachelor of Welding and Quality Inspection student from UniKL MFI.

I'm looking for a company to undergo my industrial training. Any of you have recommendations for me? I would prefer the company to be somewhere near Bangi, Kulim, or Penang.

I'm not targetting any particular company as long as I can get the proper exposure related to my course.

Thank you.

The company above was suggested if you were looking for jobs in oil & gas field.

According to Sugarbun: 'Hello, I have my geology degree in 2011.  I applied for mud logger position in Schlumberger and was interviewed in April. Unfortunately, I did not succeed in the interview. Does anyone know what other companies also have mudlogger position in Malaysia?

Right now, I am desperate to get in the field I studied in. It has been 2 years since graduation and still zero experience in geology. It seems like a waste of time and money with this degree. I am taking other unrelated jobs just to survive.

Scomi was looking for Drilling Fluids Engineer (Mud Engineer) and still have it vacant .
Meanwhile,GOM resources does and there's opening for geophysicist published on our website smile.gif

You can view and apply for it in case you met the requirement .

Thank you !

Not really. If you were doing a Physics or any science background, I would say you're okay but if your diploma is Mechanical Engineering, I still cannot understand why they offered you Petroleum Geoscience unless they expact you to start as a freshie (meaning not being able to carry the Mec Engr diploma)

If you have no other choice and are willing to start fresh. Go for it. The prospect for a career as a Geologist is bright. You can also contribute to the team since you do have some background in Mech Engineering so people can't BS you that much when they talk about Facilities.
