Hi, My Kia Cerato 1.6 now below 2k KM, sometime 12L/100 some got 9+L/100, driving not over 3000RPM, but RM100 just can go 350KM-430KM, (100% in city)
is this normal ??

My cerato (2.0) is currently at 6k km. Bought it last 3 weeks. I travel JB-Pekan frequently and with RM100 (full-tank Ron95), I can travel JB-Pekan-JB (about 660km) via Mersing with a single pump. It's impressive I would say. Have tested such trip several times. Never test 100% in city. Just sharing.

Hi , just need to know, the meter L/100km, if just start the engine and stay (mean stop the car no run), the meter show 8L/100km , after min the meter will up to 9 to 10L/100km , if continue stay (mean engine still start and just stay) will up to 20-50L/100km, but my car just stay no run.
So is your car is same ??

Mine share the same FC with you with 100% city driving. Guess it's norm? But I heard few ppl can reach 5-600km in city. Then ours is not normal

Yes, the longer you caught in jam, the more the fuel burn especially when the 1st & 2nd gear engaged or even without moving.

Hi, your 1 is ok, my 1 just start engine with P (mean free gear) the L/100KM is can go 50L/100KM,
But once start run the car , will drop to 9-15L/100KM.

I remember this happen once before my 1k service. That's was my 2nd/3rd full tank refill when engine start and reset the mileage. Does this happen only when you refill full tank or everytime when ur engine start?

Hi , everybody, i compare with my brother car BMW the meter L/100KM, if just start engine and stay with P, the meter is stable, (mean if 8L/100KM after 1 hour also is 8L/100KM), and my Cerato 8L/100KM after 1 hour will up to 40-50L/100KM. (But once car start run the meter will drop but very slow)
Mean the car run will save petrol , stay will less petrol ????
Problem is why the car stay with P the meter will auto run up.
This problem KIA services center also don't know why, just tell me KIA cerato is normal like this.(I test with KIA showroom new KIA Cerato also same problem.)
Just need to know the answer.

Hi, yes, i everytime refill full tank, this problem is if you stop the car talking phone or waiting friend the meter L/100KM will automatic up.
I also try Reset the mileage or L/100KM , also no use.
But the car run at city stop and run stop and run, (mean traffic jam) the meter is ok , will up but not very fast , but stay the meter will up fast then.

Now my KIA Cerato i can say is ok.(Boleh tahan lah)

first of all, do you understand what does L/100km means?

let me try to explain to you... the L/100km in your meter is actually forecast fuel consumption and not actual fuel consumption... 8L/100km meant that, 1 liter of fuel can go 12.5km... so the lower the L number, the better your fuel consumption...

so since it is a forecast FC, it wont be just be at one number, depending on how you drive the car... the more you accelerate, the higher the L number is... since it burn more fuel to go a said distance...

as for you getting 50L/100km when you in P and just reset, then drop when you move... it is because it calculates the fuel used VS distance traveled... when you start engine, it is already burning fuel... but since you're at P means you not moving at all, so distance traveled is 0km... let say you used 1liter and didnt move 0km, so it give you the max reading...
once you start moving, the distance traveled increased, so it forecast a better FC... lets say you traveled 12.5km and used 1 liter of fuel, so the reading goes to 8L/100km...

so its not an issue at all... the number in the meter doesn't control your FC but your right foot does...

you can try, full accelerate, the L sure go up.

You are right. It's all about the forecasting calculation. The l/km meter fluctuates during stop/sudden acceleration/decelaration since it depends on the predicted fuel used (liter) and the distance (km).

Early owner of cerato...bought 1 week after launch... Now already reach 20k. Feel satisfied...
