Just sharing guys. Received my Cerato today. Temptation red, 2.0. Bought from Kia Red Cube Kuantan. Fast process indeed, booked on 21/4, received it 1/5 despite registration at JPJ Kelantan. Got RM1,888 + 1,000 rebate with 3-years free service and basic 5-years warranty.

QUOTE(happiesdog @ May 2 2014, 11:15 AM) Congrats on your new ride. Thanks! To be honest, surprisingly, I drove Kuantan-JB like normal, between 90-110km/h. I was told by the salesperson that the Cerato doesn't require break in period (I should have done some research on this. arrgghh..). Mind to share your driving style from Kuantan to JB since the car is not break in yet. Some advise that we should not speed above 90km/h and not to maintain a certain speed for long time, if this is true then new car is actually not suitable to cruise on the highway What is your FC for this long journey? Hopefully, nothing will affect my car. Just sent the car yesterday for the 1st service (1000km) and no problem detected (hopefully in future too). Anyway, I looked over the manual briefly and there's nowhere mention on the break in period. Where can I find the "break in" procedure for the specific car, Cerato (or Forte for others)? I heard some cars don't require such period. |

QUOTE(mango27 @ May 7 2014, 01:18 AM) the manual actually did mentioned the break in period... in page 5... things like "do not rev more than 3k rpm", "do not let engine idle more than 3 minutes", "avoid keeping at a single speed (cruise control)" etc... all the normal break-in advise you can find from the net... Thanks. But I couldn't find it. You mean page 5 of which chapter? My manual's page no is based on the chapters (ex; page 5 chapter 3 means page 3-5). |

QUOTE(rave0524 @ May 14 2014, 01:24 AM) Hi guys, i just test drive today. Elantra and Cerato. Of course, Cerato is much better. But there is a concern to me that, they offer me 3 years free service. I forget to ask them, but free service only free for labour charges? or including spare parts? I just bought last week. The 3-years (or 60,000km whichever comes first) free service is including labour and parts.Elantra, they include spare parts for their 5 years free servicing, but how about Cerato? Do anyone know? |

Hi guys. I just realized 1 of the DRL led died 'tak nyala'. Called Red Cube and I was told that no warranty for bulbs, including the led and the cost is RM100 per led. Does it make sense? Anyone have experience such prob? Thanks!

QUOTE(randoll @ May 16 2014, 09:17 PM) Replacing light bulb and led does not require wiring, it won't void the warranty. Update on the "died" drl led. Went to Red Cube this morning. They submit a report to HQ and the new replacement unit will be free-of-charge despite no warranty for bulbs, considering newly puchased car (less than a month). Good service though.I'm not really sure about the maintenance cost for Cerato, but I can at least have 5 years peace of mind with the warranty. At least all the major components have warranty. Headache only 5 years later. I owned a Kia picanto (the old model) and maintenance cost are ok. |

QUOTE(madcow1 @ May 12 2014, 11:47 AM) Yes, the shuffle for all songs is kinda stupid. I check the manual for the HU unit and it is not mention on shuffle song within folder. You can shuffle songs for a specific folder (for new 8" HU unit). Go to the specific folder using "Files" app, push "All' then the list (the specific folder) will turn red. Press "Option"-> "Play", then press "Shuffle". The HU will shuffle the specific folder. Hope this will help.So I feel this kinda lousy HU unit b'cos normal RM100++ HU unit also can shuffle song in folder. |

QUOTE(ykfnetwork @ May 29 2014, 09:03 PM) Hi, My Kia Cerato 1.6 now below 2k KM, sometime 12L/100 some got 9+L/100, driving not over 3000RPM, but RM100 just can go 350KM-430KM, (100% in city) My cerato (2.0) is currently at 6k km. Bought it last 3 weeks. I travel JB-Pekan frequently and with RM100 (full-tank Ron95), I can travel JB-Pekan-JB (about 660km) via Mersing with a single pump. It's impressive I would say. Have tested such trip several times. Never test 100% in city. Just sharing.is this normal ?? Please let me know. Thank you. |

QUOTE(mango27 @ May 30 2014, 02:52 AM) chill man... no need post the same thing all over again... You are right. It's all about the forecasting calculation. The l/km meter fluctuates during stop/sudden acceleration/decelaration since it depends on the predicted fuel used (liter) and the distance (km).first of all, do you understand what does L/100km means? let me try to explain to you... the L/100km in your meter is actually forecast fuel consumption and not actual fuel consumption... 8L/100km meant that, 1 liter of fuel can go 12.5km... so the lower the L number, the better your fuel consumption... so since it is a forecast FC, it wont be just be at one number, depending on how you drive the car... the more you accelerate, the higher the L number is... since it burn more fuel to go a said distance... as for you getting 50L/100km when you in P and just reset, then drop when you move... it is because it calculates the fuel used VS distance traveled... when you start engine, it is already burning fuel... but since you're at P means you not moving at all, so distance traveled is 0km... let say you used 1liter and didnt move 0km, so it give you the max reading... once you start moving, the distance traveled increased, so it forecast a better FC... lets say you traveled 12.5km and used 1 liter of fuel, so the reading goes to 8L/100km... so its not an issue at all... the number in the meter doesn't control your FC but your right foot does... |

QUOTE(randoll @ May 17 2014, 09:59 PM) Good to hear that they care for their customers. Update on the 'died' led problem. They (Kia Red Cube) changed the entire headlamp with a new unit. The problem solved. Less than 2 weeks to solve. Very good service I would say. I share the before/after (left/right) photo herewith.Anyway can snap a pic of your headlamp? Would like to see how it looks like with 1 dead LED. Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(Motorman @ Jul 3 2014, 05:27 PM) The New Kia Cerato KX have just arrived at my showroom. Generally it look the same as the high spec version of the Cerato K3. Barely noticeable are some of the accessories which are not found in the KX as compare to the K3 high spec version. However the important features in the KX that still make this car impressive & exciting like the push start, smart key, Day running light, multimedia audio system with GPS/ Bluetooth /DVD/Radio , auto cruise, reverse camera, 4 reverse sensor, 17" alloy sport rims, auto folding side mirror, welcome light, puddle light , supervision cluster meter & auto leveling light are all still available. Thanks for sharing!! I would say the KX outstands others in the same class. I wish I got the auto-leveling light in my Cerato (current 2.0 model) because KIA advertises it in their brochure and website. Hmmm....... |

Anyone has updated the SpeedNavi software? I have tried several times but the process stuck at the authentication step in the SpeedNavi website. The S/W serial number was obtained from 'Info' menu on the 8" navi device (new batch Cerato), but could not register it. Error message appear "S/W serial number is already registered.". Any solution on this? TQ!

There is a booklet from Speednavi which is given to you when you take delivery of the new Kia Cerato. The step by step instruction on how to update the map are all explained inside that booklet. Just realise that the issue has been posted/solved. Works well for me, just updated my SpeedNavi. Updating of Speednavi map: First you will have to register yourself at the the Speednavi website. www.speednavi.com Username: It start fr small letter c and follow by the last 6 digit of yr car chassis number. So it will be cxxxxxx. Password: same as username. For those who need further assistance you may call Naza Solution for help. |

QUOTE(coconutzz @ Aug 5 2014, 10:19 PM) Not sure if this helps...i only know i insured my windscreen about RM2,000+ ....i guess the cost is around there Thanks coconutzz for your reply. You're right. It costs about RM2+++. Just went to Dr Cermin today and the cost is less RM700 than KIA offers me (to replace the windscreen with the original one). Not sure whether better go to KIA or Dr Cermin.huhHowever, you may also try to fix it if its not too major...i remember patching up a small hole on my earlier vios...cost about RM60 per hole (a few years back)...but then again, the crack line will still be visible after u patched it... You may check with some windscreen shops on the cost, i know there is one near Kanna Curry House PJ, the one near Rothmans Roundabout (now no more roundabout) |

QUOTE(Buydirect @ Aug 7 2014, 11:42 AM) Do check if Dr Cermin gives any warranty against breakage caused by poor installation. I know that some repair shops may offer cheaper prices, but many do no give any warranty whatsoever, even if the windscreen shatter the moment you drive your car out of their workshop. I am not talking about stone damage, which is of course not covered by their warranty but natural cracks due to uneven pressure caused by installation. Thank you Buydirect. I appreciate your useful explanation. Dr Cermin provides 3-months warranty against defect from installation (leakage, crack etc.) However I decided to go to KIA since their explanation on the replacement process is rather convincing compared other workshops, plus my car just 3-months old (worrying other workshop unintentionally 'hurts' other parts of the car). Some workshops even confused on the model; K3 or K5 or Forte. hahaha. Anyway, thanks Buydirect. If you are claiming against wind screen insurance, remember to re-insure it again with your insurance agent, because the windscreen insurance is only valid for one time claim or within a year. But any re-insurance after breakage is only valid till the expiry date of your car policy, so you need to consider if you should only renew the windscreen insurance upon the expiry date and take the risk for the remaining period. |

QUOTE(rayhvs @ Oct 1 2014, 10:38 AM) Still struggling between 2.0 and 1.6... like the ventilation seat and its power... but does it worth to top up that much? It's worth the money. More power, ventilated and electric driver seat, sunroof, leather seats. Try to get the best deal for the 2.0. I only got RM2,888 + 3 years free services (/60,000km) + 5 years standard warranty but still fully satisfy I chose the 2.0. |
