Yes, honestly by far RHB is the most backwards bank in Malaysia (compared to those I have used - Maybank, CIMB, OCBC, HLB, PBB and Affin). The only thing is, for me, I already had a housing loan with RHB, so I already had to set OTP etc when completing the loan account opening process. And yes, I recall I kena need to prove the number for OTP was mine. Was a bit troublesome then as I was under a shareline at the time and need to write official letter to say it is me using the number.
DESPITE THAT, despite being an existing customer, I have to go to bank and physically pick up the card. Walao weh, even HLB, CIMB, HSBC, Citibank, Standard Chartered which I don't have any prior accounts with, they send to the house lah!
I've never needed to jump through so many hoops just to open a damn account.
Luckily for me, once all the above done, RHB Smart Account is easy, everything just do online, as it will use the credentials from your existing savings account with RHB.
RHB Shell Visa and RHB Smart Account are both "best in class" in terms of benefits, but really very leceh the way they do things one.
