minor correction ya, progressive springs, more particularly lowered, still has slightly shorter travel length than stock/oem springs due to the simple fact that the height is lowered. it does however have many more coils compared to stock/oem springs to maintain the comfort level/rebound that is very comparable to stock springs while at the same time providing stiffness/performance when it is required.

- progressive springs stiffness require the springs to compress to a certain degree before it reaches it's stiff coils. so on highways like mrr2, you still will experience floaty effect (excess of 130km/h) on the straights until you start taking corners beyond 120-140km/h
while on my previous linear apm performax, i've never experienced it because the springs are permanently stiff.

and yes i highly agree with davidke20 on being cheapskate on springs, it's just not worth it and i've paid a huge lesson (because that may be one of the contributor towards my prior accident that costed me over RM8k aside of my own stupidity and recklessness) with constant b****ing about how shitty the comfort is on normal sport springs
consider this: springs are "one time" purchases, typically they don't go wrong/broken unless you have a damn major accident (which then i believe you have something else to worry about)
absorbers on the other hand are wear and tear items and if you keep prematurely wearing them off due to subpar springs, how much are you actually saving? FYI my absorbers almost cost twice the price of my springs, do you think it is wise to save cost on springs while screwing the absorbers?

Lu sendiri count how many coil difference? Here's a problem as Quazacolt pointed out, when the lowering spring usually 1 coil shorter than the stock spring, in compensate is using thicker material to offset the bounce rate to avoid the ride being too wobble. Hence, attaching these so called sport springs will make your absorber travel distance shorter. Shorter travel distance meaning you can enjoy temporary tight/stiff cornering. The car tend to bite more to the ground with lower center of gravity.

Due to shorten travel distance with absorber, the bounce rate increased on the lowered sport spring characteristics, the oil seal inside the absorber tend to wear off quicker than standard spring. Meanwhile, shorter spring also mean that the fully expanded spring length does not match with your spring mounting. Whilst going through bump, when the lower arm(front) or the torsion beam(rear) being traveled down, the lowering spring will lari a little bit due to not long enough. When the car landed, the spring will have to auto adjust itself to the mounting point, hence the annoying squeeking sound.

Progressive spring is the aftermarket spring that has the same travel length as the stock spring, but with different amount of coil count on the spring. For example:

it is the best of both worlds, however it won't execl in either world:
- the springs are lowered and no matter how you see it it will *most likely* won't be as comfortable as stock. HOWEVER, as iinm dares mentioned, due to its firmness compared to stock, it will not have wobbles/floaty feel when going through bumps/pot holes, and that may create an illusion that the car is actually very comfortable (because the passengers in the cabin experiences lesser flexing/movement)
