tokyo banana for me taste also like 'mehhhhhhhhhh.' If you MUST buy tokyo banana buy the flavored ones like caramel. otherwise i like this one:

is called hiyoko ひよ子 and is like a bean paste (sort of like a sweet and smoother version of penang tau sar pneah).

Answer was

Yokan (羊羹)

Not expensive + elegant + perfect stuff eat together with Green Tea.  When you visiting a Japanese family. You gift Yokan.

Yokan sweet + Green tea bitter = excellent result

As long you got foreigner passport without any Japan work permit or Japan Study Visa. You can used the Exchange to change your JR Rail Pass.

JR Rail Pass only at Japan Major Train Station or Major Airport. On Travel Information counter

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to plan a trip to Japan on 2015.
Any Hotel booking site recommended?
I've looked up the standard site, I'm thinking that there might be possibilities that some "Traditional" family-run hotels might not be published in the main stream websites.

Anybody have good recommendations?

Appreciate it, thanks !~

Agoda/Booking/Hotels.com etc is only for the bigger hotels.

If you're looking for ryokans/inns/guesthouses, try japaneseguesthouses.com or jalan.net(no joke)

hehe am doing now, reading reviews and checking rates..just to see if there is any first hand experience from lowyaters here biggrin.gif

by the way, i come across something interesting. in some ryokans, the room types are stated as 6 tatami mat room, 8 tatami mat room, etc..i believe, they are referring to the area of the room right?
