Do more homework

Btw, Kansai region alot private train company. JR pass are very limited used in this region.

In Kansai all you need is another pass than JR pass.  I won't tell you. You go figure out what pass most imporant in kansai.

Sifus, will be going to Osaka (4N) & Kyoto (2N) in October 2013.  I have been trying to find out but could not locate it on the website information whether if we purchase a return trip ICOCA + Haruka pass, can we take the train from KIX to Osaka and then from Kyoto to KIX?  Appreciate if Sifus could enlighten!! Tqvm.  biggrin.gif

Yeah, planning to go Japan this coming nov!

It is ok I spend 3 days in Tokyo and another 3 days in Osaka for 7 days 6 nights?

Any recommendation ?
*
I suggest u focus kansai only or kanto only.
You won't appreciate and enjoy it by spreading your days.
It's tiring.

Is it convenient to travel from Tokyo to Hakone carrying a luggage?
I did some research and found out the Hakone-Tozan Line Route covers Shinjuku to Hakone.

So at this point I'm guessing I need to travel to Shinjuku to take the train. Anyone have a better suggestion?

Also, the first page of this thread mentioned there is a free pass but when I click on that link, doesn't give much info. Hmm...
*
are you planing to go anywhere after hakone?
what is your plan?

Should i fly directly to Kansai International instead of haneda airport?

Since i plan 4 days in tokyo and 3 days in osaka.

At least it will be in morning (kansai) when i reach there instead of midnight if choose fly to haneda airport.
*
easy ma.. if u in osaka, out haneda, vice versa. AA right? Osaka lo, return fly from haneda is night, u save a lot of time.

Hey, quick question guys.
If I were to go to Japan for like 18 days, you reckon it would be enough to visit places like Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima? Or maybe it's too many places to visit in such a short period of time?
*
Haha... Have you done your homework enough? Later teacher will tell u the same liao.

Well, quick answer to you, yes u can cover all that.

QUOTE(Aeiou11 @ Jul 8 2013, 08:04 PM)
I will be going to Hakone for a 2D1N trip. Been searching for a Ryokan but they are really expensive for my budget. Was planning to stay in Hotel Senkei (around RM500+ per night for a 2-person room) since it seems to have decent onsen. The thing that bothers me a little is it isn't a Japanese-style room.

So some forummers here think that it would be quite a waste to stay in hotels instead of Ryokan. I would like to know is there a difference between Ryokan and hotels with onsen? It would be a great help if you guys can give some advices on the accommodation in Hakone.
*
For Budget wise with ryokan experience, u can try Tonosawa Ichinoyu Honkan. Location is good also. near yumoto station, but u need to take bus (2mins only).
of course, if u study more, it is worth to spend more with the better/true feeling & experience. nod.gif

QUOTE(LittleStrawberry @ Jul 11 2013, 12:07 PM)
Hi, I am going to Japan on december this year(my first time) and i have few questions to ask, hope that all sifus can guide me. Thanks in advance.

1. i will reach Haneda Airport on 29 dec at 11.30pm in Japan by AA. I found that it doesn't work on monorail and subway in japan as all close by 12midnight. i have searched the late night limo bus and found that only certain routes on certain hotels. I plan to stay in Horidome villa(5 min walk to Ningyocho Station--Hibiya Line). Can anyone suggest me how to get there during midnight? if can avoid taxi, it's better cuz wanna cut cost.

2.I plan to go to Osaka Universal Studio. so, i found that if taking Nozomi shinkansen will be around  14,000yen per trip. but if i purchase Japan Rail Pass which stated is unlimited rides(7days), i can't take Nozomi as it's not cover by Japan Rail Pass,so i need to take hikari which the Japan Rail Pass covered. It yes, it's still worth it to purchase the Japan Rail Pass, right?

3. i will be going to hakone for mount fuji view. will it be nice during december? It's stated in hyperdia by SHINKANSEN KODAMA and Hakone Tozan Railway. Is these cover by Japan Rail Pass?

4.i will be visiting places like shibuya, shinjuku, akihabara, meiji shrine, tsukiji market, asakusa area, is this cover by Japan rail pass?

Hope someone can guide me here as I am quite confusing with the route that cover by Japan rail pass even though have read on website. Thanks in advance first and hope someone can help me. Thanks a lot and appreciate it.
*
whether buy or not buy JR pass is depend on ur schedule. Do some homework and calculate the fees.
for hakone, not covered under JR. u hav to buy hakone free pass.
yes, tokyo JR coverage is good but some places need subway. get a suica.

u just google JR route map u will get the answer. do more homework ya... laugh.gif

I already checked from the website and found that shinkasen to osaka is very expensive, this is why i consider to purchase the japan rail pass. i know the 5 days "Seishun Juhaici kippu" ticket covered most places in town area, but didnt cover shinkansen. That's why i am not sure whether to buy the japan rail pass or not as i am planning to go osaka for universal studio, hakone and disney sea. the rest of the day will be staying in tokyo. I have checked with the transportation info provided on pg 1, but i can only take tokyo monorail and reach in Hamamatsucho only, after that no more subway or mrt services available midnight.  really need all sifus' help here. Thanks in advance first.

why not u share your entire plan, then we only know what suit u most. hmm.gif

Yeah, I was considering that too. I haven't paid anything yet to Kimi Ryokan. They have confirmed my booking but cash payment is upon arrival. Maybe they still hope. Tks a lot!!
*
aiya, own business ryokan sure have la. u no need to cancelled all ma. cancel 2 days enough lo.
fyi, hakone & kawaguchiko u need 2 days, best is u have 1 night each. on the third day morning travel back to tokyo lo. Advice u to travel light, if u stay kimi ryokan b4 that, u can store ur luggage there, then return to stay at their ryokan again. (if you really return & stay la)
