Wait for local store. From record we are among the first countries to get stock even prior to official physical release date. The price also won't be too far from overseas unless if some bloody retailers wanna cut our throats and come out with stupid bundle idea or limited stock thingy then jack up the price.

Actually nowadays motherboard effect on overclocking is minimized. Look at the power phase design, the number of power phase featured on the motherboard will not guarantee that it overclocks higher or runs more stable than a board with less phases. It's the CPU aka processor that decides how far your overclocking can go. Moreover CPU itself has integrated voltage regulator (iVR) to control the power delivery. So my take is get the board that suits your needs, the quantity of connectivity, features such as wi-fi and Bluetooth supports, multi-GPU support based on number of your graphics cards etc... Btw, MSI Z97 Gaming series looks stunning!

QUOTE(stasio @ Jun 13 2014, 07:36 PM) Glad to see that it doesn't take few months to break 7GHz barrier with the i7-4790K. For sure we will see more records broken within these few days and so on.

QUOTE(meons @ Jun 14 2014, 11:57 PM) this unit
hmm bad and the worst 4770k is 1.1v 3.9ghz. yeah f***ed up. basically stock vid is the clock. Avg ones are 4.2ghz but still 50:50 u end up the above or this. Above Average is 4.5ghz @ 1.1v... 5-10% chance of getting this. i had one but the imc like screwed up even 2400mhz it had issues and the vccin voltage was fluxing like mad. And Awesome one with god himself coming down and patting u in the back is 4.7ghz@1.1v.. literally. he came down and whispered bless u my son. thats rare. even on percentages... any ram.. stable vccin.. u name it. this do 5ghz @ 1.25v. so whatcha think about that 1.42v again @ 4.5ghz.. thats the hall of fame worst one ever. Gtx780, asus rangers BSOD code 124 means insufficient vCore. Try playing with higher Load-line Calibration, preferably "Very High" which usually gives minimal vdroop during load.

Looks like your chip needs more juices. This post has been edited by owikh84: Jun 16 2014, 12:45 PM

Put ur Vcore at 1.35v ceiling (1.44v is too high already), up ur VCCIN and enable LLC to highest setting VCCIN can try until 2V (default 1.8V, but will register as low as 1.65-1.7V if LLC is disable). How about uncore multi? Try x40 or below when ur OC reach 4.5Ghz and not stable. This post has been edited by coolkwc: Jun 16 2014, 04:47 PM
