I am sorry if I offended you...as i really did not mean to.
i lol-ed that much at the car just because it is more towards higher end option and your example like i said was deemed to target the average ppl, that is all...nothing else
well, what u said abt the car not being in my reach is painfully true...so maybe that is why i am a bit psycho (usually already psycho) and keep lol-ing (consciously or unconsciously).
hopefully one day i can get a car that my wife dream of then maybe if the situation gets even better, my dream car on top of that.
i still in learning the ways to improve...so please forgive my naivety

for the 2nd gen comment...it guess it did not come out the way i wanted it to be (i suck in expressing myself).
what i meant in 2nd gen was parents came over first and you were brought up here..not the cantonese version of 2nd gen (i just thought of this n i suppose that is why u got so pissed off    ). for this, i apologize, i am not cantonese...anyone who worked hard and got labelled that definitely have the right to be pissed.
i nvr said the money you forked out for the house and car is not yours
i am just saying for cases of normal average ppl especially those who spent their time growing up and probably started working in m'sia first then move over here, we have a very painful experience of seeing our hard earn savings (in numbers) shrink by a lot because of the conversion (price to pay for migrating but if we decide to go back to retire, we will be laughing until our teeth drop).
housing wise...to be honest, i consider the pricing relatively the same in numbers to back home...just that the type is diff aka hdb here ~ m'sia apt/condo, private here ~ m'sia landed, landed here ~ erm...i duno what to compare   
since ppl back in m'sia, slightly above avg income ppl can afford to buy landed...i am very sure u (way above average from how u express yourself) have the capability to do that without a doubt
furthermore, you have mentioned that your worked your butt off with your partner when u started working to come to your position now
so u definitely deserve whatever luxury u can afford now.
i seriously did not mean u leeching or anything...it is just that to be being a 2nd gen (my version...not the canto version) , it is very unlikely that u started working and saving back in m'sia so u do not have the experience of seeing the savings shrink (very painful experience    ).

on having a better life or not...most part is based on whether you deserve it or not (u worked ur butt off for what u want or not)
then, there is a small part which is the situation you were borned into...we can't choose this, but we can choose to either stay in that situation and mope abt it or work harder to climb up.
