its so fortunate that around theres plenty of hdb that is within walking distance. Ive checked the cheapest room that i can get is at 400$, however most prefers locals and female LOL. anyway this is not the matter. As there are so many selections, which one is the best to live at? Maybe max around 600$, cheaper the better la of course.

In such a short time that i have to decide, i may not know the demographics, crime rates, ammenities, hdb facilities, etc etc... Thanks!

bus 5 hours each ==> total 10.

Ohh im heading there to check on accommodation for a day only, and hopefully can sign the contract on the spot. Thus, will not be bringing any luggage. Ive checked thr will be 2 transit if use MRT, totals around 2-3$ which is negligible. Calculated the day trip budget will be ~Rm200 which i think is fair lahh.. Only thing i fear that landlord will ffk last minute and that would waste my whole day time at Toa Payoh lol.. Actually anyone here at Toa Payoh can be my emergency contact just in case? lol.. On a side question, how much does the data roaming costs for digi if in SG?

i beg to differ. My employment starts on the first and i only have 2 weeks left to go. And most cheap rooms around 500$ are snapped out within days. My plan now is to arrange multiple viewings on the day itself, arrive very early morning and depart at midnight. The 1 day time window should be enough i guess. I dont have to carry luggage for now because, my company will be sponsoring my flight the day before employment starts. Arrive last minute and backpack with thousands of dollars in my pocket is a nono regardless how good the security is. And too bad i have no friend here.

thats wat i thought also.. or ill just go on sat sun.. or maybe i will just backpack for 1-2 nights in case for these scenarios lol. But feel kinda unsafe since i will be bringing deposit money as well.. If really no choice then hotel only.

Guys, i found my accommodation at toa payoh and signed contract on the same day and came back, which is good. I wanna ask too, my rotation will be in batches of 6 months, and i may not know which country i will be sent after 6 months. So far i only see M1 mobile package that offers 6 months contract minimum, but sold at a premium price.. What do you guys think? I thought of getting a postpaid sim card with alot data, and double it as a modem for my laptop. Are there like any other options?

just curious based on your survery throughout this thread, what profession are the majority who works at SG? lol. Im gonna be an engineer there next week ^.^

maybe the engineers are too busy there to reply. Well i think 1 month++ after graduation.. whole onboarding process takes 3 months good luck to you too
