Couldn't confirm on the 5% cash back as that totally depends on merchant's transaction date.
But insurance is 2x and not 5x now.

thanks. i remembered few months ago, i read in their website saying that payment to some government agencies or insurance will not entitled for 5 times points. but, i could not sure how much the points given.

apparently, 5% rebate is more than good enough to me.

thanks.

PayPal works on weekends. smile.gif
I always pay on Saturday's night (Malaysia time), it is already good enough to record it as weekend and get 5% rebate. smile.gif

No service charge, just currency conversion difference.

Ya, it seems these days need to call Maybank but when I registered mine more than 2 years ago, I didn't need to call them. smile.gif

I cannot tell you the conversation rate, it depends on banks.

Been a while since I post here.

Finally is my turn to get fraud from Facebook and Karmaloop for my Amex. I seldom use my card recently. The last possible transaction where the card is not with me is at Dragon-i restaurant.
The rest are just normal auto-billing, payment at cashier (supermarket), at fuel-pump (not counter) for the past 2 months, where the card never leaves my sight.
Unless they randomly manage to generate my card number.

Other than that, the other possibility is, I inform MBB on my last travel.
Usually nowadays I don't inform, since I don't plan to use it. But this time, I need to use and inform MBB through calling the Customer Service. Could it be an insider job ? hmm.gif

Come back, filled up the fraud form, and got my new replacement card. Now wondering on auto-billing, since MBB says will auto transfer over, but Maxis keeps calling my home (not my mobile ???) rclxub.gif

I don't think it is because of the call made to inform on your travels as they don't know your 4 digits number.

I am actually leaning towards the random generator.

Yah, our AMEX card can be easily used by others because the CCV numbers are the same when it comes out from the "printing" line.

Example, you can easily also go perform a fraud, just go simply enter your 15 digit # +1 or -1 the last digit and use the CCV number shown in your card and most probably the transaction will be approved.

So maybe not necessary inside job but a cardholder scamming other cardholders!!! Or any of the merchant's staff that recorded our card number and CCV number.

Now as for fraud calls where they know our name, IC number and some cases the card number itself but not the expiry date of our card, one can easily pinpoint the source/culprit of the information by eliminating the dept/persons that have access to our info during the credit card process from application until issuance of card.

my time now- got fraud KARMALOOp and MAS online - reported within few minutes of sms notification - they informed me transaction was 'float' - 3 days later the MAS transaction appeared in my statement on same date of my statement date. they said coz it's local ecomm transaction, it went thru. hmm.. Definitely inside job man, i dont use my card online and super paranoid going about my it/tech/security related stuff. timing was 'perfectly ochastrated'..! i was assured that despite the said statement i wont have to pay anything, but need to file dispute form as formalities.
sent dispute form now awaiting their action.

beware guys! hmm.gif

OMG, amex is so vulnerable to fraud huh?

I once questioned a local online payment gateway why they states they accept amex but it rejects at confirmation on payment.

Their reply was amex actually has lower security measure where they have not implement something called 3D security or im-not-sure what thats why Bank Negara has already instructed them to stop amex online payment until they comply.

Those online thats accept amex are mostly, if not all, are foreign payment gateway.

I didn't get any SMS notifications. Just curious, cause even Paypal, I need to call up the bank to open up my online usage for specific date/time range. This FB and Karmaloop, automatic go through online ? hmm.gif

Just to add on, the last time I used this card online is Air Asia about 3-4 months ago.
No other transactions outside my pattern (refer several posts above) in past 2-3 months, except Dragon-i few weeks ago.

Also, I was at 11 hours time zone away, my phone rings at 3-4am when I'm sleeping, and I didn't pick up. Then MBB fraud dept emails me later in the night... err... morning.

Ya, forgot the exact word, dispute form.

I didn't get unknown number, but I got some prank calls from Hong Leong Assurance which I cut their call (roaming expensive mad.gif ). You guys can help verify these numbers 03 ?

You need to call MBB CS and ask them. Most probably you will need to inform them to send to a branch nearest to you and you need to go there pickup.

No one called me after I called in to CS (immediately after I got 2 sms for online transactions) to report the 2 online fraud cases that were charged to my son's card. Got the dispute form by mail after few day and only submitted it after my statement was out. Only 1 out of the 2 fraud charges appeared in my statement.

Well, it was for your own good. And it's your fault for not providing MBB your contact number.

Long ago, HLB also barred my card because they cannot contact me after I used my card.

With SMS alert, all of us should make sure that all our card issuers have our latest contact number so that we will be informed whenever our card is being used.

Bro, odd, you should have gotten the sms alert for online transaction. Better you call MBB CS now and set your SMS alert default value to RM1 and make sure their system got your latest mobile number.

I get sms alert from MBB whenever I use my cards overseas, i.e. Oz, US and SG.

Yes, it's pretty odd. As above, if I buy Air Asia/MAS ticket online, immediately I get SMS notification.
If I Paypal online through my CC, I need to call up MBB CS to "open" up my card first, before I can pay online.

This FB & Karmaloop, no SMS at all.

MBB has my latest number, I've never change my mobile since I started using many years ago.

I not yet start to set my SMS alert though, I didn't get SMS alert when purchase at local supermarket or petrol station.

When sms alert was first introduced, MBB system will only sent out sms if you spend outside your spending pattern. Someone even mentioned in sms thread he spent more than RM10K also no sms.

Recommend you call MBB CS now and set your default value to RM0.01 or RM1. Once this is approved, you will get SMS for all your MBB cards no matter how much the amount.

Gen-X, u got vast experience with cards,
so in card fraud transaction cases, we only need to inform the bank + sent up dispute form asap, right? no need notify other agency/police/bnm/crc unless physically stolen card right? [m worried that later they say not reverse transaction coz didnt notify so & so bla bla..die woo!]

i get many marketing calls claiming from bank/private numbers/unknown numbers so i stop answering those i dont know ; and rarely answer unknown numbers unless m expecting one; so dono if bank can claim later they tried call me but cannot get thru, but how r we to trust unknown numbers even if they can give our details as scam could have got it fr our 'clone' card eh?

damn worried man, never got fraud xperience bforew, i think amex is super 'problemo' , .. icon_question.gif thx
