QUOTE(Gen-X @ May 22 2013, 03:44 PM) Sure boh? For Agoda it may be considered overseas transactions, so better check the conversion rate for AMEX and also Agoda's conversion from USD to MYR. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. As for the 5% cash back - so far no one got it with Agoda if I not mistaken. Actually to pay in USD is cheaper than in MYR, even on VISA. Just saying. |

QUOTE(namh @ May 24 2013, 07:44 PM) i make paypal transaction in this week and got declined.. then i called maybank and they told me, maybank will always block paypal transaction and user need to call to allow it for specific time.. so i believe you need to call maybank first before doing any paypal transaction.. Not entirely true. I have registered mine since 2011 with AmEx and until today I have never called Maybank to make any PayPal transaction, they went through. However, I noticed for those registered last year or this year will have this issue. |

QUOTE(namh @ May 24 2013, 07:55 PM) yes, always see you reply these paypal question with this.. but looks like only you have this privilige by maybank, and i dont know why.. i believe all newbies will have to face this new policy by maybank to control online activites especially using paypal.. Not only me, there are others as well. That's why I said only those registered from last year onwards may have this issue. I will have a PayPal transaction tomorrow, since it is weekend, waiting for the 5% weekend rebate. If it doesn't go through, will report here. |

QUOTE(loyalkkk @ Jun 1 2013, 12:45 AM) Regarding post #2 item 13, some online transaction do not earn 5% rebate. For Maybankard2Card AmEx is straightforward, no categories basis. What do you mean by some? If I'm planning to make online bill payment to water, electricity, astro, telco, etiqa takaful berhad and etc. , do you think I am able to earn 5% rebate? p/s: electricity bill has to pay to Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB). Anyone of you know whether pay to SESB entitle me to earn 5% rebate? Thank you in advance for sharing your experience here=) So long the transactions are processed during weekends, you will get 5% rebate. As for your first question on the online transaction, you didn't quote the full sentence. "However it is reported that some online transactions on weekends DO NOT earn the 5% cash back as it depends on the timing the merchant processes the transaction." -Some merchants (for e.g. Dell) don't process during weekends, you may make your order on Saturday but the payment will only go through on weekdays. So you will not be entitled for 5% rebate. This post has been edited by fruitie: Jun 1 2013, 12:54 AM |

Nothing to worry. This is the only card that I don't need to monitor so long my transaction is processed during weekends. I'll definitely get 5% rebate.
My last week's purchase using PayPal went through, paid at around on last Saturday's 8.00 p.m. Reflected on my bill on 25th. |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Jun 2 2013, 11:48 PM) I saw my cash rebate in my account but the statement due on 12. M2Card's rebate is based on calendar days. It will be credited on the following month's 1st or 2nd.just wondering. does it mean every month from 1st to 30/31st will be the rebate period and nothing to do with bill cycle ? That's why posting date is important for weekends that at the end of the month. If the merchants post it late, it will be only included in the following month's rebate. It's not like OCBC Ti where the rebate is credited based on statement date. |

QUOTE(tachlio @ Jun 26 2013, 03:16 PM) yes, not all accept AMEX, IINM TNB was just added few month ago. Previously cant For Maxis, i heard some able do payment via walk in to SC during weekend. Is up to you planning how to optimize the payment. For me 1st priority is AMEX due to 5% + 5XTP then only OCBC QUOTE(-Matrix- @ Jun 26 2013, 03:39 PM) noted with thanx ... walk-in to perform payment is not cost-effective ... For Maxis, please use this method and do it on weekend and you will get 5% rebate:hopefully maybank amex can lower their fees to compete with master/visa ... then it would be wonderful as consumers would have to worry about 1 account only to pay monthly utility bills, and the service providers would gladly accept amex cheers ... QUOTE(-Matrix- @ Jun 30 2013, 01:47 AM) hello sifus, This info is already on the first page.i know this has been posted on the page-1 but i just wanna triple confirm ... the 5% cashback on weekend spending is calculated for a calendar month, means from 1st till the last day (28th/29th/30th/31st depending on the month) of the month - is this always TRUE? reason i'm asking because i just got my maybank 2 cards this week ... and yesterday (sat), i've already swiped more than RM600, leaving about RM400 before the RM50 limit is hit ... so sunday is the last day of the calendar month for june 2013 ... in this case, on monday (1-july), the RM50 limit cap will start all over again from zero? cheers ... Yes, Maybank2Card's weekend cash rebate is based on calendar month (i.e. 1st to the last day of the month). However, you will need to take extra precautions when it comes to weekends that fall on the last 2 days or last day of the month. If the merchant doesn't post your transactions immediately (or within the same month), your cash rebate will be counted in next month's cash rebate. Transactions date determines the eligibility of cash rebate. Posting date is important if the weekends fall on last day or last 2 days of the month. ronnie has put up a nice example case and it is on second post, please read and don't ask this kind of repeated questions in the future.
