I have registered mine since 2011 with AmEx and until today I have never called Maybank to make any PayPal transaction, they went through.

However, I noticed for those registered last year or this year will have this issue.

Not only me, there are others as well. Who am I to have such privilege?
That's why I said only those registered from last year onwards may have this issue.
I will have a PayPal transaction tomorrow, since it is weekend, waiting for the 5% weekend rebate.

For Maybankard2Card AmEx is straightforward, no categories basis.
So long the transactions are processed during weekends, you will get 5% rebate.

As for your first question on the online transaction, you didn't quote the full sentence.
"However it is reported that some online transactions on weekends DO NOT earn the 5% cash back as it depends on the timing the merchant processes the transaction."

-Some merchants (for e.g. Dell) don't process during weekends, you may make your order on Saturday but the payment will only go through on weekdays. So you will not be entitled for 5% rebate.

Nothing to worry. This is the only card that I don't need to monitor so long my transaction is processed during weekends. I'll definitely get 5% rebate.

My last week's purchase using PayPal went through, paid at around on last Saturday's 8.00 p.m.

Reflected on my bill on 25th. Yeay, 5% rebate.

Can, 3 months of latest payslip is sufficient.

M2Card's rebate is based on calendar days. It will be credited on the following month's 1st or 2nd.
That's why posting date is important for weekends that at the end of the month. If the merchants post it late, it will be only included in the following month's rebate.

It's not like OCBC Ti where the rebate is credited based on statement date.

Can ask my sister to use her M2Card to buy and get one free for her daughter.

Yes, Maybank2Card's weekend cash rebate is based on calendar month (i.e. 1st to the last day of the month).
However, you will need to take extra precautions when it comes to weekends that fall on the last 2 days or last day of the month. If the merchant doesn't post your transactions immediately (or within the same month), your cash rebate will be counted in next month's cash rebate.

Transactions date determines the eligibility of cash rebate.
Posting date is important if the weekends fall on last day or last 2 days of the month.
