Bro, looks like my so called main blog www.genxgenygenz.blogspot.com will never be restored by google so I have been posting at my previous blog www.generationsxyz.blogspot.com

Since I don't have any plans going overseas again so soon (but now air tickets on MA and AA got sale so see how), have to go revamp and do some re-branding on www.generationsxyz.blogspot.com, hahaha

Sure boh? For Agoda it may be considered overseas transactions, so better check the conversion rate for AMEX and also Agoda's conversion from USD to MYR. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. As for the 5% cash back - so far no one got it with Agoda if I not mistaken.

since i only have maybank 2 gold card, when i use visa gold to pay agoda, i only can get 5 percent.

however, i use maybank amex gold card, i can get 7 percent. so i would prefer using amex gold card than visa gold card during making payment at agoda/maybank.
*
Are you telling us you actually got the 5% cash back with agoda using your AMEx on weekend?

i think no..i just have a try on the provided agoda maybank link..if u use visa to purchase in agoda..u will get a 5% discount..if u use AMEX to purchase..u wull get a 7% discount in agoda..

means if u successfully charged AMEX cc in agoda during weekend, u can get 7%+5%+5x TP in total.

i just try it out after key in the cc number..didn't really charged my cc..

OIC, thanks for the clarification.

Hello,

I went to Maybank Branch and settle my m2u online account. They tell me to get the temporary pin for my CC first, after i request PIN from counter, i proceed to ATM for change PIN and register for m2u online banking via ATM. Just to be safe, i register m2u online first time login PIN for both cards.

I use first time login by using the MBB2 AMEX card after i went home, and setup the username and password. I notice that my MBB 2 VISA card is not in the "All Account" option. I call up Maybank and they mention m2u account created by CC cards could not access two different cards in m2u online, only the m2u account opened by CASA can link and view all CASA and cards.

so they suggest me to open a CASA and apply m2u online with the CASA. After that, close the MBB 2 AMEX's m2u account, then linked MBB2  AMEX and MBB2 VISA with the new m2u account.
Is this the only way to view both MKBB2 AMEX and MBB2 VISA account on m2u? I will have to open a BSA without annual fee if this case.
*
I think it is because the person at MBB failed to include the Visa card when he/she did the set up for the new M2U account.

I had an article on M2U for CC when I got a MBB Savings Account but too bad that article cannot be read anymore.

They did not set up the m2u account for me, they tell me to use the CC PIN on ATM then register m2u on ATM.

I will have to go to counter to request linking other card to my m2u after i have a account?
so i can request to add my VISA card into my m2u account for my next visit to a branch?

since someone have tried then i can request them to double confirm if they say cannot next time.
some operator they dun even know their bank and just answer cannot  doh.gif

Last time in RHB, the lady saw i have 2 saving acc and ask me why can opened so many acc  sweat.gif

both times I set up M2U account, the Exec had to key in my credit card numbers when setting it up before I go activate at ATM.

m2u account with only the CC cannot used anymore in this case?

so basically need to
1. open BSA
2. apply new m2u account
3. close previous m2u account
4. link all together for this new m2u account

that will do it smile.gif

Guys, things have changed with Agoda now. From now on, always choose MYR as your checkout currency as Agoda's rate is now better than ever! And you will save even more if you have MBB2 AMEX. And because your card will be billed in MYR, you do not have to worry about AMEX's high foreign exchange rate! I have just booked a room through the Maybank Agoda promotion landing page, paid with my MBB2 AMEX, got 7% off + about 2.5% (5x TP) + redeemed 12,500 Agoda rewards points (equivalent to USD25). Save myself quite some money.

Fantastic, thanks for the info.

No problem.
Eh, quite a surprise that AMEX Gold entitles for 7% off too. A good news nonetheless.
This wasn't the case just not so long ago. Last time you'll be shown a very competitive exchange rate (assuming you choose to see the rate in MYR all the way to the final checkout page) which led you to believe that to choose to be billed in MYR is better. But it was bogus and you'll realize after the transaction has gone through that Agoda's exchange rate is higher and it was better to choose USD and let your bank do the conversion. (Can refer to my posts and also Cempedak's in the previous thread)

Anyway, when doing the booking in MYR, Agoda's exchange rate for the x% bank discount + Agoda Rewards Points redemption is tiny bit higher than remaining balance you have to pay. Refer below.

- x% bank discount, Agoda's exchange rate is RM3.1590
- Agoda Rewards Points, USD25 = RM78.97, the rate is RM3.1588
- Final Total Due, Agoda's exchange rate is RM3.0870

Considering you can get 5xTP when booking with your MBB2 AMEX, the exchange rate difference is therefore immaterial. Besides, RM3.0870=USD1 is about the same as the cash rate you can get from money changer now. So i'd say Agoda's rate is quite good.
*

Miles - if my VI gets 7% then better to use it over MBB2 AMEX right? But then again USD can shoot up when Agoda post the transaction. f USD weaken then I save more smile.gif

Yes. USD fluctuates quite a lot these days. Anyway, i think MBB2 AMEX is still better despite higher exchange rate is used for the bank discount and also rewards points redemption.

Oh, do you still get 5xTP for your VI if you choose to be billed in MYR on Agoda ?
*
I got no idea if I get 5X TP in MYR with my VI and not booking any hotel rooms for some time. I was thinking of paying in USD since my Visa conversion rate lower.

Tell you want, I propose to pay you the "2.5% cash back" for the RM11K that you may earn from MBB2 AMEX and you go pay with Visa or MasterCard at JPP offices, subjected that you let me use your Panamera for 2 days.

My ex-boss use to drive a 5L company car, road tax more than RM30K!

Haha interesting proposal sir smile.gif

Yeah, last time we did pay RM30k for the car roadtax as we registered the car under company (to avoid IRB as we bought it in cash) But now cannot tahan then decide to change it to individual name (RM20k discount on road tax every year tongue.gif)

I had called myeg on this issue and they will get back to me in due course.
*
Bro, just go to JPP office and pay with Visa or MC and earn minimum 11K TP but that is about RM50 cash voucher, worth your time? Go to JPP website for nearest branch and call them if they accept Visa or MC. JPP State HQ all accept Visa or MC. Good for those Premier cards that requires you to spend RMX amount to get auto annual fee waiver.

And it is a wise move to change the car to your name because later when IRB audit your company, they will slap you with personal income tax for the car. How to justify using sports car for work related matters, hahaha.

Hi guys, we all know that our Maybankard 2 AMEX earns us unlimited 5X Treats Points (approximately 2.5% cash back in terms of cash vouchers) PLUS 5% cash back on weekends.

However, if you were to convert your Treats Points to Enrich Miles, your returns can increase much much more into the 2 digits range thumbup.gif smile.gif

Click here to read my latest article titled My Son Is Going To The USA on Business Class Again. In this article I will show you how you can "earn" xx% returns with the MBB 2 AMEX.

Which Harvey Norman? Record the AMEX CVC front number?

Thanks zenquix, I did the calculations as well but I overlooked the TP vs treatmiles. At least with TP I still have the option to move to Krisflyer as well, which wouldn't be an option for the WM.

The 120k spend is also a huge turn off for me. I don't plan to spend that much and definitely not just on one card...

Here's a question if you know, will the existing TP I have be converted at 4500 per 1k miles or only new TP from VI get that conversion rates?
*
Bro for Enrich Miles, if you got time click here to read my article titled My Son Is Going to the USA on Business Class Again.

From my experience on flying to Melbourne on economy, if you don't mind flying with Air Asia, better you just pay the Air Asia ticket (price include taxes and surcharges) instead of redeeming for Enrich Miles to get FREE ticket with MAS and still need to pay RM1140 for surcharges and taxes. For example, I bought a ticket to Melbourne again next month with Air Asia round trip for less than RM900 which is cheaper that using Enrich Miles to redeem for a "FREE" round trip ticket!!! However, if you use Enrich Miles to redeem for MAS business class, then it is really worth it to use our TPs.

Trust me that VI or ANY MBB cards except for M2Cards particularly AMEX are not worth it after the major increase of points redemption. I am using a VI and planning to discontinue it.
*
For local transactions, even before the increase, MBB Visa and MAsterCard are not worth it for local transactions tongue.gif MBB 2 AMEX is the best for local transactions as far as unlimited reward points are concerned.

VI is till worth it for me.. 5 times overseas points and one of the lowest for enrich conversion..

Agree with you on MBB VI, as far as overseas transactions are concerned smile.gif

Noted that MBB VI overseas conversion rate is now higher than previous months but it is still better than my UOB VI.
