non of these stations actually next to any sizeable land. unless someone get creative doing an urban renewal, prop potential is limited.

Public transport is to move population, not for developer to sell more products and leave existing population to rot.

looking at mrt3 stations and their locations now, in retrospective mrt1 station locations werent' that bad after all.

i dont know why many interchange stations in same location need walk so far just to reach to different line. Is it because of cost reasons that they can't build so near each other?

He said public inspections were taking place now and will continue until Dec 2.
β€œAfter that we should be able to finalise our alignment and start our land acquisition process."

Does this mean that the current stations and alignments are not finalised yet and may change after the public inspection?

of course, public inspection is there for a reason.

also expect more changes if there is objection from the locals, i.e the taman tasik danau kota alignment.

But why want to go PJ. Circle line are usually used to connect business hub to mass public. Sacrificing bangsar south connectivity for this doesn't make sense.

PJ is just an "alternative" and wasn't in the previous proposal.
BTW, do you have any insight on why Bgsr Sth is sacrificed?
Interested to know as well.

Easy answer will be. Developer didn't pay or leverage enough. See who owns the majority of undeveloped land near Asia Jaya maybe we might get an idea.

But having circle line that didn't cover any business hubs, I really don't know the true value of this line. It's not connected to KLCC, TRX, and now they want to skip Bangsar south as well. If they really skip all business hubs, this line is dead on arrival.

Places like Bangsar south, bangsar, mont Kiara, KLGCC, TRX. Developers don't really care if your line goes there. Those places is self sufficient, hence lansi towards MRTcorp lor. That's my speculation, this is not /k.

Looking at all other countries that have circle line rail network, the objective is not necessarily connecting with key business hubs. Circline line or circle ring road serves for different purposes.

I believe someone has earlier answered that this circle line is meant to connect those places/stns previously not-connected to form a larger link, thus easing the road traffic congestion.

Also, the recent alignment has skipped UM stn. Some of their students are staying at Pantai Dlm/Kerinchi(asrama?). The students' wishes to use MRT to UM are now vanished....

I went to the old ISKL in Ampang last month. I would think the land would have been developed for another high density project but apparently they made it into a leisure mall called The Campus. It is crowded that having problems to find parking. Many went there to "punch card" due to its unique ambience.

Reduced land acquisitions from 1012 to 690 lots means the alignment are shifted more along the highways or public spaces such as parks.
Another very unlikely reason is that they moved elevated rail to underground.
BTW anyone has the update of the alignments and stations?
