for wifi issues with 5470, i would like to know what issues specifically?
always disconnected?
as one of you mention, speedtest is for web browsing and not hardware. so where does the wifi problem comes?

for me, sometimes my 5470 disconnected from wifi but my phone is still connected. then I will have to manually connect it back. is this something to do with the wifi card you guys are talking about?

Bought 5470 last december. Realized the wifi becomes slow and unstable when i turn on bluetooth. read online that the intel 7260 car got problem. then i realized when i connect USB 3.0 also the wifi will become unstable. the dell technician came and changed the network card twice and formatted my pc also cannot fix. finally the engineer came and took my laptop back. he told me he confirm the card got problem, now they testing the laptop with 2 other cards, 6235 and 2230, see got problem or not.

Those having 5480, do you have this problem? because 5480 is using 7265, i assume they fix the problem and release the 7265 card to fix the 7260 problem

pair your laptop with bluetooth and connect your wifi to 2.4Ghz, see still ok or not. also try plugging in USB 3.0 thumbdrive or external HDD. While transfering files, see your wifi ok or not

So can we change the network card in the 5470? i'm planning to buy one 5470 from lazada, anyone brought from lazada before? Can't resist the price offer there,
Rm1999 only for 4th i5 2.7Ghz,500GB,32GB SSD,4GB,Nvidia GT740M-2GB D3,14" Touch LED,Win 8.1 OS

Or did the newer 5480 model have no more issue for the wifi signal?

speed is the same. i would say more stable but still has problems.

Using 5Ghz Bandwith on 10Mbps Unifi :

1) With Bluetooth on = internet still fairly stable (download speed = 5 - 7Mbps)

2) With Bluetooth off = internet stable (download speed = 10 - 14Mbps)

Using 2.4Ghz Bandwith on 10Mbps Unifi :

1) With Bluetooth on = internet not so stable anymore with occasional timeout and high ping time (download speed = 5 - 7Mbps. sometimes error because timeout halfway)

2) With Bluetooth off = internet stable(download speed = 10 - 14Mbps)

no, the max speed with any device is around 10 - 13Mbps.

The problem is unstable and frequent time out when bluetooth is turned on. speed also reduced

i feel like i am even more qualified then dell technician or sales.

called and ask if i can change my HDD to SSHD, they dunno. asked the technician about msata, they have no idea what is msata. are they just refering to a list of questions and answers?

I think the ppl in this forum is better qualified than them =p

yeah, so does anyone here know if i can change my HDD to SSHD? i dont think the 9.5mm 1TB SSHD can fit, but the 500GB is 7mm only. should be ok right?
