and need to ask you this bro wallabies, im thinking to get the hippo mook amp to pair with my colorfly c3 and my upcoming astrotec ax35. do you think its worth the investment ? or should i save up more and buy higher end amp. more iem is coming btw so its not only the ax35 it will be pairing in to. (some of it will definitely be the heaven II and gr07 tongue.gif)

A popular pairing with C3 would be C&C BH amp.

Thanks for the heads up....

But it should be covered by the warranty?

Lol I've seen people changing it 2 to 3 times and still end up with a lemon, IMO if their quality is that poor I don't think having a warranty will be useful since you're left with a dead one after 1 year.

Any insight of when Philips Fidelio L2 will be released? I can't find it anywhere.

In addition, is there anyway I can purchase the straight cable of soundmagic hp200 to replace hp100's bulky coiled cable?

I am eyeing these 2 right now. =x

whats the best IEM out there? looking foward to Sennheiser IE800 and AKG K3003i. Don't want custom made IEM and weird-shaped IEMs, and don't want transparent ones too (for female, thats ugly for them).

Wondering towards the AKG K3003i because that stupid thing doesn't work on android phones and I'm afraid that its non- disassembleable, so I can't re-cable upon failure, or seeking for better sound quality. but, review says that K3003i's are 1 level better than the IE800's.

okay sorry i didn't define my needs properly, i know there are no best IEM like, this is the best iem you could get just get this and forget the others.
I'm looking for IEM below RM10k (allows overbudget, just don't want gold plated or diamond plated things, and ready stocks in audio shops if possible), and don't want custom IEMs of weird shape and transparent shells (for female use, they don't like it)
looking forward to AKG K3003i or sennheiser IE800 but the AKG have some parts i don't like which is mentioned above, and IE800 too, please advise.

*prefer relaxed and neutral sound signature

If you want relax and neutral, I don't think Senn IE800 fits your bill.

I would suggest FitEar TG!334, which should cost you about RM5k -ish.
I had this earphone for almost 6 months but had to sell it to part finance for my custom.
It has relaxing sound signature and it excels for vocals, esp. female vocal.
They are not what you call neutral though due to the elevated mids.
The bass can go very deep, though not hard hitting as IE800 or Shure SE846.
I do find the high frequency a bit roll-off, and some users will try to overcome this weakness by using silver or silver-plated cable.

Problem

+1 on FitEar TG!334, they have one the best mids for vocals around for IEMs and I dare say even better than most CIEM in this category.

If you're looking for something laid back, you can try considering Shure SE846 as IE800 comes a little too bassy (bloated imo), but of course YMMV.

- Just a laptop, and occasionally DS and PSP
- General use, music + movies + gaming... all that
- Mostly MP3, got some FLAC too
- Game OST consist of too many genres
- Closed, but open to a lot of suggestions
- Build quality is number one priority, but I really don't know of anything as strong as mdr v6 at a price of...
- Budget shouldn't be more than RM100.

I'm just getting something to wear around the house.
A quote on open headphones, for use during outside would be good too. But I think I'll just get portapros for open.
