whats the best IEM out there? looking foward to Sennheiser IE800 and AKG K3003i. Don't want custom made IEM and weird-shaped IEMs, and don't want transparent ones too (for female, thats ugly for them).

Wondering towards the AKG K3003i because that stupid thing doesn't work on android phones and I'm afraid that its non- disassembleable, so I can't re-cable upon failure, or seeking for better sound quality. but, review says that K3003i's are 1 level better than the IE800's.

There's never a best in audio.

The best is determined by your wallet and taste.

okay sorry i didn't define my needs properly, i know there are no best IEM like, this is the best iem you could get just get this and forget the others.
I'm looking for IEM below RM10k (allows overbudget, just don't want gold plated or diamond plated things, and ready stocks in audio shops if possible), and don't want custom IEMs of weird shape and transparent shells (for female use, they don't like it)
looking forward to AKG K3003i or sennheiser IE800 but the AKG have some parts i don't like which is mentioned above, and IE800 too, please advise.

*prefer relaxed and neutral sound signature

sorry, my sister just updated me, even she has $$ but shes not willing to spend too much on this.. small thing. The price of AKG K3003i is maximum for her, and she definately doesn't like weird shapes and transparent shells. If possible, the IEM should be available in audiophile shops, she don't want pre-order. ( i see some shop have ready stock for shure 834(if i recall correctly) and sennheiser IE800), are they any recommended IEMs, or better than AKG K3003 in this price range?

Hi, just tried out the following in ear phones at hong kong Mingoheadphone
Shure 535 : the ear buds blocked too much area from the driver, the sound became bloated or weird, and weak bass
Shure 846 : Sounds good, but my sister says too hard to wear, which is very critical for her. Sounds close to my headphone, D2000 which is very good, even better detail than mine
Sennheiser IE800 : everything is good, sound is very smooth, bass is powerful and soundstage, instruments and details is good but the vocals are too backward, even with amplifier (music fidelity, forgot which model available in the shop), perhaps this is the downside of single driver IEM?
After listening to IE800, the IE80 became nothing, so definately won't choose that.
Anymore recommendations? sad.gif actually likes the IE800 sound but too vocal too backward. Gotta try more tomorrow, a lot of IEM available to try there, Fitear TG334 and westone (spelled like that? im not sure, just something like that)

Budget, prefer around RM2000, but able to pump more if the sound really good

Also tried the D600, the pads are soooooooooooo comfortable and thick, and the driver sounds similar, even a little bit more detailed when played with my note 3 too,not sure if amplified, i don't know why people say the new product lines of denons are bad and the driver of my D2000 already legendary.

i'm sorry after tried out those almost high end IEM my sister decided to cancel her plan because the difference of sound quality between IEM and headphone is too big. the IEM only have 10% of the airy feel of over-ear headphones i guess...

For Shure 535 is weak bass?  blink.gif  I think u didnt really seal the IEM itself completely? as sealing is very critical for it to acquire the full bass quality of it. I can say that Shure SE535 is one of the one with tight basses in it. tongue.gif
Well thats not my point, just that, since your sis is willing to stretch your budget until so high, if you are looking for the airy and the tight sealing , Why dont go custom? Is a completely difference experience. You can hear NOTHING when you put your Customs iem on even without playing any music. tongue.gif You can only hear the total silence. Do have a look around for brands like JH Audio, Unique Melody, 1964, Noble Audio and many more tongue.gif Well i can say that the SQ of Customs can win over quite many high ends headphone.  cool2.gif

she doesn't like those weird shapes and weird colors doh.gif anyway she got tired after sennheiser IE800 didn't satisfy her. Actually what i mean weak bass is not enough texture on the following frequency blush.gif I didn't know there are so much difference between IEM and overhead headphones too. She says she rather spend those money on speakers
