How is the shure 215? Bass cukup? I own the SE102's, amazing clarity, but really really lacking in bass  sweat.gif
*
i own se215 myself and i say the bass is more than enough but does not affect mid (high is recessed) however, the bass is considered to be muddy if you experienced other higher-end headphones/earphones, if not, this earphones are good for everything except classical musics

QUOTE(nabzblitz @ Sep 6 2013, 09:29 PM)
Guys need advice for a gaming headset! Help!

- Your rig: Desktop
- Budget: <RM300
- What type of usage: Skype video calling and gaming specifically. Will not be using for music or movies at all.
- Headphone/ earphone type: Over ear (Supra aural i think?)
- Other requirements: Mic quality is of top importance. I wanna make sure my voice sounds clear, no static at all, etc.

I'm considering Logitech G230, G430, and Razer Carcharias.
Actually not sure if it's relevant to post this here since I'm actually interested particularly in mic quality so if anyone can point me to a more relevant section that would be great!
*
if microphone quality is top priority for you, then get sennheiser branded headsets. I own pc323d and its perfect for gaming, 7.1 dolby surround sound card included, mic has top clarity, the sound is crystal clear and lacking of bass (good for competitive gaming)

i also own a steelseries siberia v2, it is good for everything, when gaming i just tuned the eq to treble to lower the bass and make footsteps clearer. the microphone is clear also.

i do not have any of those headsets you mentioned, but g430 uses the same soundcard as pc323d so i say the surround sound would be great.

p/s: i now use akg q701 with clip on mic for gaming and everything else.

Hi guys, need an IEM recommendation. Prefer the all-round type coz I will use it most of the time to do everything!

AND also including a microphone (I do tons of calls from laptop/phones).

Budget is somewhere around 300-400RM.
*
i would say se215 but if you purchase the cable with microphone it would exceed your budget :/ se215 is SUPER comfortable though.

Hi guys, need some recommendation on buying a budget headphones.

- Your rig = Desktop
- What type of usage =  Primary for gaming with skype n Music ''BASS''
- Budget = RM160-RM200
- Headphone/earphone type = Closed ear

The CM STORM CERES 400 are on my list. Does it do the job for me?. Any other brand that are close to my budget?.. Read a review on the CM STORM CERES 400 and people say is a bargain buy. Other recommendation would be great.
*
cm storm makes good product, i own cm storm sirus and i would say it is the best for gaming, however, i cant use it now because it is too heavy to be carried over to UK with me sad.gif

I want to get some really good headphones.
- Your rig = Mobile Phone
- What type of usage = Music. Rock. Good Bass and Mids
- Budget = Open. Preferably not over 900RM
- Headphone/earphone type = Preferably On-Ear. Over-ear okay but not too big.
Thanks
*
sennheiser momentum on ear. i own a pair of these and i say the sound is warm, good bass and mid. high is clear too. generally it is a quite balanced headphones with mid and bass slightly forward-ish. but the clamping force is... doh.gif i could only wear those for an hour max before i have to let my ear to rest for a while. but i guess it's normal for on ear headphones unless you get a pair of bose oe2 (beware of fakes in plaza lowyat though).

QUOTE(zapdos9 @ Sep 9 2013, 08:56 PM)
Don't worry. Its not that loud but little. bit irritating if I sit beside someone with it blasting music in lrt laugh.gif
*
i think sound leaking is not an issue anymore because almost everyone in the lrt has headphones/earphones on (thanks to iphone now everyone is listening to music, but with apple's cheap earphones and they leak, A LOT! doh.gif)

QUOTE(kenny B @ Sep 10 2013, 11:09 AM)
hi guys, im looking for recommendation for headphones (preferably isolated)

- rig : mainly pc (xonar dg card), might buy a fiio e10 for the phone (htc one)
- usage : gaming (counterstrike and battlefield) and music
- file format : flac and mp3
- music genre : all kinds but prefer vocals
- headphone : comfort first. prefer closed over open, and portability too. but in the end still sound quality over design/portability
- currently looking at dt990 250ohm pro and beyerdynamics t50p, and also brainwavz hm5
budget would be around the price of the headphones stated above.

- also need recommendations for amp, currently looking at fiio e10 and e11, or anything recommended within this range

btw selling my alessandro ms1 for rm250 if any takers tongue.gif
*
i am using a pair of akg q701 and i say it is perfect for everything. i am on Asus G53sw so i dont have a pcie sound card but im using asus xonar u3 usb sound card though. so i just tune the eq to treble when playing cs:go for sound whoring and default when doing everything else.

comfort-wise, it is comfortable for me but yeah, the headband is a little bit of getting used to but i am used to it now.

sorry it is a opened-back headphones, but sound quality is top-notch.

for amp, my setup = xonar u3 -> fiio e12 on +16db gain -> akg q701, no problem whatsoever. cool.gif

Hi guys

- rig : PC (onboard Sound Blaster Cinema msi z87 g45)
- usage : gaming and music, light movies
- headphone : comfort, preferable wireless if it is stable.
- currently looking at cosair 1500 cosair 2000 and razer kraken pro.
- budget : rm 300 - rm 400

thanks in advance for any recommendations.
*
nvr use a corsair headset before, but i bought their k90 and their software is bullshyt, firmware kills the keyboard so i bought steelseries 6gv2 instead. other than the software, i have no complain on corsair products.

i have a pair of steelseries siberia v2 and is it absolutely comfortable (unless you have large ears because the earcups are medium-sized) i also had a pair of Asus Vulcan ANC and it is within your price range, it is the most comfortable headphones i had ever use in my life but i sold it because there is no bass when ANC is activated. if you don't use the ANC, it is the perfect headset though.

- Your rig (Note 2 or PC couple with AV Receiver as an amplifier)
- What type of usage (pure music, got more than enoguh headphones for gaming)
- File format used in your source (16bit 44.1k FLAC files)
- Genre of music you listen to (All type)
- Headphone/ earphone type (Open or semi open)
- Other requirements (if any) (none)

Guys which suits me better, have a few in mind
-DT880
-AKG K/Q701
-HD600/HD650

Listen to all types of music so preferably balance sound
Im not really a super analytical listener, looking for something musical
will fund up for JDS O2 Amp later

Had hd650 and now using q701. I prefer hd650 for music because it is very lively. For movie and gaming I prefer q701 because I want to listen to the dialogue and footsteps.

I wonder how much would you rate HD600 bass if compared to HD650? Let's say out of 5, how much is HD600 and HD650? I hope those who owned and tested both can share with me. Just now I listened to Trampoline (feat. 2 Chainz) - Tinie Tempah (Foobar> Wasapi> UD100> FA-003) and I realized sometime more bass is a good thing . biggrin.gif Or should I just boost the bass from equalizer next time?
*
I am afraid I can't answer that question because I have never own a hd600 before. But if I am to rate akg q701, it is a 2.5.

Hi, whats the best earphone that I can buy with a budget of rm300? Mostly Im gonna use it with my SGSS4 and my lenovo y400 laptop. I'm thinking about shure 215, but i dont know which one to buy whether clear, black or limited edition? and based from my reading around here, people also say that hifiman re400 is a good earphone for my price range. can anyone advice me what's the best and value for money earphone that i can buy for a price range of around rm300. Im a rookie, so i dont know much about this. please help.
*
dig out a little bit more money and buy the limited edition and you will be happy forever.

don't buy the clear edition. i have that i regret it. the clear was nice at first but after 2-3 months the copper wire become greenish and the cable will look like very old cable because the plastic turns yellowish.

so akg q701 is really good for fps genre game?
*
Yes. I play counter strike global offensive with it everyday. Footsteps are as clear as day and sound positioning is good as well. But of course, you need to have a soundcard for that and not playing it with stereo. But spending over 1k for a headphone to play games is a waste. Buy a ad700 if you need something for gaming only. I use q701 for everything.

yes i'll using it for gaming purpose only
u already use ad700? the ad700 performance is on par with q701 or not?
*
SSJBen is giving out some good advice. I have not used AD700 before because I rather buy a good-rounder around that price-range. But what SSJ said is true, AD700 is the best for competitive gaming but only that purpose, well, based on 20+ reviews it cannot be wrong.

But if you are into competitive gaming, my true advice is practice. Gears can only get you so far. Don't expect after you change your headphones your K/D ratio would increase suddenly. Gears like keyboard, mouse, headphone is only a bonus to your game sense. Competitive gamers often use normal headset, never seen them wearing a Audeze to play games now, right?

sorry for off-topic btw.

I am using a laptop so I use xonar U3. it is decent for sound positioning so i guess the pcie cards should be even better.

Thanks bro. Good advice. Plan to get it tomorrow. And definitely will go with the blue se215. Hope I will be happy forever as u said coz this is the first time I'm gonna spend a lot for an earphone. Lol.
*
Well, the truth is always upsetting. Se215 was my first "good quality" earphone and guess what? In 2 years I bought akg k450, denon ahnc600, sennheiser hd600, shure se535, sennheiser momentum on ear, akg q701. I am planning to get a pair of grado sr60/80/125i next month or so too (saving money).

After you upgrade, you don't want to go back to stock earbud anymore. You will just want to keep upgrading, or at least, that's me. tongue.gif

Just wanna add something on this;

In terms of DH quality? No difference. If anyone just wants cheap DH, getting the U3 makes sense.
But the amp on the Xonar U3 is just... doh.gif

I know, considering the price... there's not much to expect. The cheapest solution is to get a FiiO D03k (RM100+) and use the amp+DAC from it instead, this would give a much needed boost to SQ where as also still benefiting from DH. The U3 just needs to connect to the D03k via optical out and everything is bypassed onto the D03k. Skipping out on the very noisy U3's amp but benifitting from the much cleaner D03k.
*
Haha I know the amp on the u3 sucks big time. I connect it to fiio e12 before I connect to my akg q701 lol. icon_idea.gif

Added: however, I can't use the optical out to e12 sweat.gif

Perhaps you should add a D03k in the middle before going to the E12? biggrin.gif
It's cheap anyways and it's a damn good DAC for the price.

Lol stop persuading me bro. I already don't know how to carry all my luggage back to Malaysia from the UK aft I finish my studies as the headphones already fill up half of the big luggage case.

Genre: Kpop
Type: In ear
Others: Flat cable design/ playback control/ include microphone if possible
Budget: RM150

The recommendations by gshoppe85 or a-jays one (no remote or mic) or beats by dre urbeats (with mic and control, rm149 from lazada.com.my)

Urbeats don't have flat cables but they don't tangle.

doh.gif what that guy meant was with the tiny amount of money you are willing to spend, none of the earphones are worthy of mentioning since all the earphones within that price range have the similar sound. therefore, just pick the design you like the most and go home.

i google up for the best low end headphone but most of it is not available here.. and even if it do it still hard to find it..

just forget it.. there is no use to ask about low end product to the people that only know about high end product..
maybe this tread should change the topic to high end Headphones/ Earphones Recomendation Corner
so that there is no other people like me be in here..

earphones below RM50 can hardly sound better than stock earphones. just pick one can go home.

final audio design adagio 3 - rm395

shure se215 limited edition - 398

if go for beats by dre, just go to lowyat plaza and buy fake beats, they sound almost the same anyway but worth the price more.
