Silly question... How loud is the leaked sound from open back headphone in normal human volume usage? Is it like we listening the headphone without it placing on our ear? Because if yeas, that's loud. sweat.gif

And I wonder if a standing fan directly blow to my face, will the wind change the sound? Because so far with closed back headphone, I can hear the sound of the wind blown to my headphone cups. I love to try open headphone but this what worried me.

And from FA-003 to DT 880 Pro is a huge upgrade or not?

Big post here!
QUOTE(nabzblitz @ Sep 6 2013, 09:29 PM)
Guys need advice for a gaming headset! Help!

- Your rig: Desktop
- Budget: <RM300
- What type of usage: Skype video calling and gaming specifically. Will not be using for music or movies at all.
- Headphone/ earphone type: Over ear (Supra aural i think?)
- Other requirements: Mic quality is of top importance. I wanna make sure my voice sounds clear, no static at all, etc.

I'm considering Logitech G230, G430, and Razer Carcharias.
Actually not sure if it's relevant to post this here since I'm actually interested particularly in mic quality so if anyone can point me to a more relevant section that would be great!
*
Go for the Beyerdynamic MMX1 its 250+ and the mic is made by beyer so it's top notch
if you want cheap then Logitech's are quite good for the price

QUOTE(v0LtaGe @ Sep 6 2013, 10:34 PM)
Hi guys, need an IEM recommendation. Prefer the all-round type coz I will use it most of the time to do everything!

AND also including a microphone (I do tons of calls from laptop/phones).

Budget is somewhere around 300-400RM.
*
Audio Technica CKM500i, its actually below your budget, pretty balanced sound but don't go expecting much out of it
Klipsch S4i, not really recommended because IMO they sound awful for the price, bassy and muddy as heck but they have a mic and the Klipsch name and you could possibly like the sound
SE215 with Mic Upgrade cable, Pricey but worth every penny, Most people say they are bassy but IMO they are actually quite balanced
IEM MICROPHONES DO NOT WORK WITH LAPTOPS BECAUSE OF DIFFERENT JACKS, the IEM will work but the mic will not

Hi guys, need some recommendation on buying a budget headphones.

- Your rig = Desktop
- What type of usage =  Primary for gaming with skype n Music ''BASS''
- Budget = RM160-RM200
- Headphone/earphone type = Closed ear

The CM STORM CERES 400 are on my list. Does it do the job for me?. Any other brand that are close to my budget?.. Read a review on the CM STORM CERES 400 and people say is a bargain buy. Other recommendation would be great.
*
Go for the Superlux headphones or the Logitech G Series
IMO the only Computer peripheral company that actually makes good headphones is Logitech but if you wanna get the Ceres then better go and try first

Try out the Grados and the Alessandros but they are open back cans so you need to listen to them in a quiet environment but other than they have the best bang for the ringgit!

Morning happy.gif

I realized that I really enjoy the sounds of musical instruments in background of a song.

Like the eletric guitar, cello, violin etc.
Goosebumps all over tongue.gif

Maybe you guys can share which earphones (NOT headphones) has that kind of effect.

hi guys, im looking for recommendation for headphones (preferably isolated)

- rig : mainly pc (xonar dg card), might buy a fiio e10 for the phone (htc one)
- usage : gaming (counterstrike and battlefield) and music
- file format : flac and mp3
- music genre : all kinds but prefer vocals
- headphone : comfort first. prefer closed over open, and portability too. but in the end still sound quality over design/portability
- currently looking at dt990 250ohm pro and beyerdynamics t50p, and also brainwavz hm5
budget would be around the price of the headphones stated above.

- also need recommendations for amp, currently looking at fiio e10 and e11, or anything recommended within this range

btw selling my alessandro ms1 for rm250 if any takers tongue.gif

hmm.gif Budget? If it's good strings, then mids and decent soundstage is what you're looking for. Budge IEMs would be the Onkyos IE-HF300, KEF M200 or Fidelio S1/2.

Really? Because if it's true the leaked sound similar to what I'm imagine, it's freaking loud.... maybe I will buy open back for home usage and use cheap samsung earphones for portable. Hehe

How is the shure 215? Bass cukup? I own the SE102's, amazing clarity, but really really lacking in bass  sweat.gif

i own se215 myself and i say the bass is more than enough but does not affect mid (high is recessed) however, the bass is considered to be muddy if you experienced other higher-end headphones/earphones, if not, this earphones are good for everything except classical musics

if microphone quality is top priority for you, then get sennheiser branded headsets. I own pc323d and its perfect for gaming, 7.1 dolby surround sound card included, mic has top clarity, the sound is crystal clear and lacking of bass (good for competitive gaming)

i also own a steelseries siberia v2, it is good for everything, when gaming i just tuned the eq to treble to lower the bass and make footsteps clearer. the microphone is clear also.

i do not have any of those headsets you mentioned, but g430 uses the same soundcard as pc323d so i say the surround sound would be great.

p/s: i now use akg q701 with clip on mic for gaming and everything else.

i would say se215 but if you purchase the cable with microphone it would exceed your budget :/ se215 is SUPER comfortable though.

sennheiser momentum on ear. i own a pair of these and i say the sound is warm, good bass and mid. high is clear too. generally it is a quite balanced headphones with mid and bass slightly forward-ish. but the clamping force is... doh.gif i could only wear those for an hour max before i have to let my ear to rest for a while. but i guess it's normal for on ear headphones unless you get a pair of bose oe2 (beware of fakes in plaza lowyat though).

i think sound leaking is not an issue anymore because almost everyone in the lrt has headphones/earphones on (thanks to iphone now everyone is listening to music, but with apple's cheap earphones and they leak, A LOT! doh.gif)

i am using a pair of akg q701 and i say it is perfect for everything. i am on Asus G53sw so i dont have a pcie sound card but im using asus xonar u3 usb sound card though. so i just tune the eq to treble when playing cs:go for sound whoring and default when doing everything else.

comfort-wise, it is comfortable for me but yeah, the headband is a little bit of getting used to but i am used to it now.

sorry it is a opened-back headphones, but sound quality is top-notch.

for amp, my setup = xonar u3 -> fiio e12 on +16db gain -> akg q701, no problem whatsoever. cool.gif

nvr use a corsair headset before, but i bought their k90 and their software is bullshyt, firmware kills the keyboard so i bought steelseries 6gv2 instead. other than the software, i have no complain on corsair products.

i have a pair of steelseries siberia v2 and is it absolutely comfortable (unless you have large ears because the earcups are medium-sized) i also had a pair of Asus Vulcan ANC and it is within your price range, it is the most comfortable headphones i had ever use in my life but i sold it because there is no bass when ANC is activated. if you don't use the ANC, it is the perfect headset though.
