QUOTE(vreis @ May 14 2013, 10:29 AM) He's not given a fair chance in Inter who prefer more established names. Couts only appeared fleetingly, much like Robinson. Like I said, it could also mean that Enrique moves forward since he has been better attacking and good link up with Suarez and COutinho. Digne and Robbo can fight for the leftback spot whereby underperformance by either one could see themselves being replaced by Downing or Enrique. No complain on the sold list since they're not getting any games, might as well go to a team that needed them. on wish list, Eriksen is basically that, a wish. If I'm Eriksen, for sure I'll go to Dortmund where he'll be the alpha dog pulling the strings which he wont get here anyway due to the presence of Stevie G. No idea abt digne, but if another LB is in, that spells the end for Robinson din it? Esp digne is the same age as him & we wont have extra games from Europa for 2nd strings to play:sweat: Toby wins hands down, Raul have been awful with Real for a while now & considering fees, salary, age. ability, pace....Toby ftw Realistically, we just need/afford Toby from that list though. |

QUOTE(gry @ May 15 2013, 04:28 AM) No money to spend, losing their best players but still can win silverware , still u cant accept the fact that he is a great manager. #enuffsaid wigan 12/13 transferhow is that no money to spend? fact is wigan got their priority wrong, simple as that. a great manager will not get his club relegated, and don't forget wigan have been fighting relegation almost every season since their promotion. to be fair, wigan play better football than stoke but the table do not lie, wigan deserved to be relegated. |

Even if Enrique moves to wing to accommodate digne, Robbo still most likely surplus to requirement. GJ can always play on the left as Wisdom, Kelly, Flano & couple more youngsters are pushing hard for the spot, which means theoretically RB is well covered & GJ can cover for LB since he's versatile. I don't see Robbo starts ahead of GJ if Digne or any other new lb unavailable. As you said, even Enrique can be moves back to LB as Coutinho/Downing operates from the left. Which means in the event new LB is brought in, most likely curtain down to Robbo progress in Reds which is a shame really. |

QUOTE(jacckl @ May 15 2013, 10:26 AM) wigan 12/13 transfer I'm with you on this. Mr Gry seems to think that winning the cup is the most important thing. At least it's a win. That means relegating to 3rd division is no sweat. Just win the cup. how is that no money to spend? fact is wigan got their priority wrong, simple as that. a great manager will not get his club relegated, and don't forget wigan have been fighting relegation almost every season since their promotion. to be fair, wigan play better football than stoke but the table do not lie, wigan deserved to be relegated. |

Like i mentioned before, If Digne or another LB joins, send Robbo out for another season's loan, if possible with a Premier league team. By the end of the season, he will be 21 and BR can gauge whether he is Liverpool material. IF not, he still can fetch 2-3mil in the market..As you said, even Enrique can be moves back to LB as Coutinho/Downing operates from the left. That means relegating to 3rd division is no sweat. Just win the cup. It's not easy to win a cup even more for a club like Wigan. Relegated but Wigan still have the financial ability to be good in the Championship and rebuild to come back up immediately. So i guess, some people will accept the cup anytime. They will still play in the Europa League right? Maybe they will get relegated to League One but win the Europa? |

They may win the cup but they will lose players and struggle to come back. Great financial recoup for 1st year and then years of misery follows. |

They will still play in the Europa League right? Maybe they will get relegated to League One but win the Europa? by all means i'm not belittling their fa cup wins, winning against m.city convincingly is very impressive for a club like wigan. but it did get you think what will happen if wigan never had this distraction. |

That's right. Championship division is not a walk in the park. Nobody can guarantee a top 6 finish for Wigan next season. Just look what happened to Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves as you said. They're lucky they're not in a dire situation financially or else they would have been like Leeds - down for so long and nowhere near to BPL promotion.by all means i'm not belittling their fa cup wins, winning against m.city convincingly is very impressive for a club like wigan. but it did get you think what will happen if wigan never had this distraction. |

I'm not saying it will be easy.. but perhaps abit better if u have the financial power to withstand relegation. On the side note, i feel that Shebby screwed Blackburn. If they ever want to get back up, they need to sack him and perhaps a new owner.by all means i'm not belittling their fa cup wins, winning against m.city convincingly is very impressive for a club like wigan. but it did get you think what will happen if wigan never had this distraction. Anyway, i believe everyone at Wigan were facing this situation of whether going all our for the cup or concentrating on survival. But if you had to choose on being on the verge of winning the first major trophy in the club's history, or survival, which will you choose? Good for the history book but now might be facing a big rebuilding. Difficult choiuce.. BTW, any Wigan players worth raiding? |
