Damn... Bayern really thrashed Barca. Don't think I've ever seen Barca play so badly in the past 10 years. Bayern is truly becoming European Champions again.
*
The trashing is due somehow as Barca never really strengthen the defence even though the knew its their weakest point. In some matches, Barca got lucky due to wayward finishing by the opponents or last ditch defending, class saves from Valdes.
Seriously, its not that surprising considering Bayern strength...and they are German, who always win biggrin.gif

QUOTE(bearbear @ Apr 24 2013, 10:21 AM)
Not sure how many more attacking player pep need - Their already have the likes of Gomez, Muller, Ribery, Robben, Kroos and incoming Gotze. All established international players who would not be happy to sit on bench.
*
Pep goes on record that he wants Suarez but that time Goetze transfer was non existing. If ever they comes in for Suarez, chances are he will go which is understandable but let's hope he won't do a Masch whistling.gif
If Suarez goes, most likely Bayern will offload one of Robben/Ribery/Gomez. Swap + cash for Suarez with Gomez icon_idea.gif

QUOTE(dillonyong @ Apr 24 2013, 10:29 AM)
That shows the triangle forming of tiki taka has a major weakness. Actually Everton already exposed that many times while playing against Swansea. The method is quick closing down up on their half and stop their triangle and make them panic.

"Quicker to close down their opponents, Bayern were also swifter in spreading the play, and unsurprisingly they had the first chance with Robben exchanging passes with Martinez before shooting straight at Victor Valdes in the second minute. " http://www.irishexaminer.com/sport/soccer/...rca-229319.html?

Same method here. Maybe this is why BR has taken a different stance in telling the players to also try long passes. That means it is now Tiki A-lalalala long taka. LOL biggrin.gif
*
& that is why someone like Alonso is very crucial. & that is why its suicidal to have no plan B which BR currently demonstrate.

Somehow big Mario reminds me of a clumsy giant like heskey or Carroll. I prefer robben's quick thinking and quick feet.
*
he's a better version of Carroll...see how he hold up play & the clinical finishes???
also the way he exploited the Barca defence aerially???? very inteligent, Carroll nvr has that football mind. Also he's German, who seldom struggle even in foreign soil biggrin.gif
Striker for striker...make sense for me, but the down side is he's can only be CF unlike Suarez who runs all over the place

QUOTE(dillonyong @ Apr 24 2013, 10:48 AM)
Yup. If he comes, then he will be CF and Dannyboy has to play behind him and run all over the places like what Luis is doing now. If Dannyboy is injured then Couts or Captain G has to do it. Not sure Borini can do that for us or not.

I seriously prefer Robben's quick feet and he is versatile in filing multiple roles. Can we have both just in case? tongue.gif
*
Robben is too old & expensive for FSG taste period biggrin.gif
If can both also good but alas the reality...we're poor club wink.gif

QUOTE(koolspyda @ Apr 24 2013, 10:51 AM)
in every system (even the mighty Barcelonafc employs) there will always be a weakness. which is why having only 1 rigid play can be restrictive. i know a lot have been debated & why we should emulate barcelona way of play.
*
Which is why even Swansea under Laudrup have Plan B & their tactical formation is more flexible which incorporated some long ball unlike BR who stubbornly sticks to 1 plan doh.gif

Think its ridiculous to sell naming right of the Anfield which stood the test of time. I can understand if its naming right for NEW Stadium but the one that stood for so long???...defo NO NO ...big money or not!!!:shakehead:
We'll be butt of jokes with ooredoo stadium doh.gif
Last we want is the owner messing with the traditions which made a club. Do you all can accept if the owner change he club colors from REd to Blue, or change the Liverbird to Tiger shocking.gif
Thats what happened to Cardiff & thats the thing I never want it to happen to Reds

For now the Cardiff fans nvr protest since the money is going in & the club doing well which paper over all the protests. They may have won but lost their identity, colors, crest even nickname...whats the meaning in that???????

For those who thinks FFP will brought financial balance into football, pls note that the lawyer who brought us Bosman ruling are fighting against FFP now which he deemed 'illegal' icon_idea.gif

QUOTE(saikuan @ May 13 2013, 10:51 PM)
It's all about being in a system that fits them. He had a lot of time at Inter but didn't work out. Work on his physique and more games, he will be a great player. Somehow, i find Liverpool's play a bit more exciting after LS got banned..lol. With Luis, you kinda know 90% of the time he's gonna dribble/nutmeg. tongue.gif
*
He's not given a fair chance in Inter who prefer more established names. Couts only appeared fleetingly, much like Robinson.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ May 14 2013, 12:13 AM)
Now that we talk about transfer, I wouldn't be surprise if Assaidi leaves in the summer. He is decent enough to makes it on bench but BR reluctant in doing so. He only makes bench in last few matches cos we have nothing to fight for.

I think these few players will leave in the summer
1. Assaidi
2. Carrol
3. Spearing (heard a number of clubs interested in him after his performance for bolton)
4. Coates

Few names that linked with us that I think would add quality
1. Eriksen
2. Digne
3. Toby Alderweireld
4. Raul Albiol

Eriksen is one hell of talent and if we could get him, it would be nice. But the fact that we are kinda packed in the middle means it's hard to get him unless we loan Shelvey/Suso out. Or the alternative would be playing Coutinho on the left like he did b4 Suarez get banned or playing Henderson on the right.

As for Digne, if we are getting him, that means either

1. Robinson is up for loan or
2. Enrique is moving to left winger position where he works well with Coutinho and Suarez or
3. the least likely scenario would be Enrique would be sold... I would bet on the first two options though.

Between Raul Albiol and  Toby Alderweireld, I would prefer  Toby Alderweireld but Albiol seems more experienced.
*
No complain on the sold list since they're not getting any games, might as well go to a team that needed them.
on wish list, Eriksen is basically that, a wish. If I'm Eriksen, for sure I'll go to Dortmund where he'll be the alpha dog pulling the strings which he wont get here anyway due to the presence of Stevie G.
No idea abt digne, but if another LB is in, that spells the end for Robinson din it? Esp digne is the same age as him & we wont have extra games from Europa for 2nd strings to play:sweat:
Toby wins hands down, Raul have been awful with Real for a while now & considering fees, salary, age. ability, pace....Toby ftw flex.gif
Realistically, we just need/afford Toby from that list though.

well, still expecting man city to completely implode after now that mancini has been sacked.
another city bench warmer in jack rodwell would also be nice.
*
yup he'll be nice if he can stay out of injury, CB/CM prob solved icon_idea.gif
oh, & there's a small little prob of bitters connection in him sweat.gif

QUOTE(dillonyong @ May 14 2013, 10:10 AM)
Football madness. That is exactly why they will be part time champion. They are repeating Chelsea's mistake. Good for us and others though. Let them continue to be stupid and we cheer.

They will never sell their superstar Joe Hart. Plus we cant afford him. Our wallet is too small.

Is Botak Pep firm on throwing the "Dear John" letter and leave? Goalkeeper is one problem we dont need.
*
To be honest, Mancini nvr really convincing for me. Even his win last season are more due to luck looking at the circumstances that City won, which they should won convincingly but no, they rather drop silly points towards end of season & sweat till 96 mins to win it. doh.gif

QUOTE(Everdying @ May 14 2013, 10:26 AM)
pellegrini tho is a good choice for MC.
even reina wanted him to manage LFC...until stupid woy appeared.
valdes still looks likely to leave barca tho...so i guess for now its just a waiting game for reina.
anyway, our wallet will definitely increase alot if barca really throws in a 30m offer...then can buy joe hart  whistling.gif
*
laugh.gif whats with ed & his Joe fetish brows.gif
even if we can afford doubt joe will give up CL for even-no-europa club biggrin.gif

I think it works between Brazil and Liverpool. LOL. So far, we got 2 very good Brazilians.
*
& u forgotten those waste of $$ Brazillian like Cavalieri, Doni, Aurelio
Whats with Liv & Brazillian gk, not like Brazil famous for gk doh.gif
The only reason Brazilian play as gk becos they're nvr good enuff for other positions, or so the saying goes sweat.gif sweat.gif

Like I said, it could also mean that Enrique moves forward since he has been better attacking and good link up with Suarez and COutinho. Digne and Robbo can fight for the leftback spot whereby underperformance by either one could see themselves being replaced by Downing or Enrique.
*
Even if Enrique moves to wing to accommodate digne, Robbo still most likely surplus to requirement. GJ can always play on the left as Wisdom, Kelly, Flano & couple more youngsters are pushing hard for the spot, which means theoretically RB is well covered & GJ can cover for LB since he's versatile. I don't see Robbo starts ahead of GJ if Digne or any other new lb unavailable.
As you said, even Enrique can be moves back to LB as Coutinho/Downing operates from the left. Which means in the event new LB is brought in, most likely curtain down to Robbo progress in Reds which is a shame really.

I'm not saying it will be easy.. but perhaps abit better if u have the financial power to withstand relegation. On the side note, i feel that Shebby screwed Blackburn. If they ever want to get back up, they need to sack him and perhaps a new owner.

Anyway, i believe everyone at Wigan were facing this situation of whether going all our for the cup or concentrating on survival. But if you had to choose on being on the verge of winning the first major trophy in the club's history, or survival, which will you choose? Good for the history book but now might be facing a big rebuilding. Difficult choiuce..

BTW, any Wigan players worth raiding?  biggrin.gif

Lol..but then they probably gonna sell the most number of players..If not, nasi lemak and satay price on board airasia to double..and increase surcharge etc to help out.. tongue.gif

yeah..Mcmanaman and Sterling..like having Macca and Barnes on the flanks.. biggrin.gif , Al Habsi was linked before too..hope Pepe don't leave and replaced with this guy..lol
*
Harry Redknapp said he can sell those high earners easily if they're relegated. So now I'm wondering what if no takers on high earners in their payroll which btw quite many as well. If I'm Tony, Harry will be screwed like no tomorrow cos playing fantasy football on limited budget

oh, while we on it, take mcCarthy from Wigan as well icon_idea.gif
