The manager is really a key part of the team these days, but the directors and owners are often a liability. The gap between them and their managers often impact the team's performances and impatience with managers has risen in recent seasons as reflected by the number of dismissals.

I think the next season will be a very good opportunity for us, given the key changes in the two manchester clubs.

Chelsea, of course, will also see a change but that has been anticipated and if they get Mourinho back, I fancy their chances. If Wenger really intends to leave at the end of next season, then he could become more adventurous. Of course, he could also be busy preparing for his next step and be less interested.

I think Everton may suffer the most due to managerial change.

So, I think the changes present opportunities for Liverpool and Spurs. I hope we make full use of that.

Hahaha... I believe nothing's changed. Money has always ruled the world. But I guess it beats living with dinosaurs constantly chasing us as delicious meat jerky. XD

It depends on the manager.
So far, in general, Liv has poor result (seldom win) against the top half of the table team.
So jury still out there.

Yes, general play is good, possession is superb (you don't win match by having 99% possession), but when come to clinical part, need to win 1-0 time, a lot of time, stumbled (as against good and top team, it is crucial to have ability to win 1-0, as you don't expect to win 3-0, 5-2, against good team)
See this year, Liv scored plenty of goals, can win big against weak team (that contributed good goal scoring record) but when against top team, poor result.
Defence is still a weak link.

1. win 5-0, lose 0-1, 3 points
2. win 1-0, draw 0-0, 4 points
3. win 1-0, win 1-0, 6 points.

So 5-0 is at same as 1-0 in the point tally (except for better goal difference that only matter when same point tally with other).

Also, it depends on manager new recruitment instinct and tactic.
Only if can constantly add in player like Couthinho (at a bargain), who can contribute to the team a lot (goal assist), then probably has a good chance for top 4, if added in mediocre type of player, midtable team player only, then next year may be stuck at midtable as well.

Agree with you on Liverpool having generally poor results against the top 10 teams. Inconsistency and failure to score are the main problems. Failure to score (capitalize on opportunities) has partly led to our defence making mistakes and conceding many goals this season.

Having said that, I think BR is a good manager and must be allowed to continue for at least 2 more seasons. Otherwise, all the development work will be wasted! In fact I still believe Dalglish's dismissal is a stupid yankee mistake..but that's history now.

Also agree that much depends on BR's recruitment this summer, and who will be allowed to leave. Getting the mediocre players in and allowing potentially excellent players to leave can be equally disastrous. However, to be fair to BR, his recruitment has been good so far. Coutinho and Sturridge are clearly great acquisitions, but Borini and Allen are also not bad. Of course, one can argue that the latter two are mediocre but I will also cite Carragher as a great example of a seemingly mediocre player who became an LFC legend. Both Borini and Allen have also been unfortunate with injuries this season.

I hope liverpool get Kevin Strootman, I've seen him play for psv couple of times and Holland he would be the ideal player to replace Gerard. I also wish they would just get Mertens and Toivonen also come all!

Fat chance of that happening. Knowing BR, he would probably go for British players FIRST before even bother to scout outside the Britannia market.

Why don't we sign Lampard, he still didn't sign new deal with Chelsea yet. laugh.gif
Oh, and as for Botak Jon, he always plays very very well in the junior team and also international. But when he plays for the senior team, he sucks badly. haha

having players speculation won't make us so bored, since we won't be changing new manager this time around laugh.gif
