System preferences - network - sharing - turn on file sharing by ticking the box

I'm not refering to the system preferences, just telling by my poor memory but it will be something like that, if I am wrong, someone plz correct me, because I'm too lazy right now  yawn.gif

If you share your files, it can be see on windows, try to search it using ip adress because I always share my data with windows user and no prob for it, from windows to see mac and mac to see windows smile.gif

There is a sharing problem in Mac that allows you to create Windows shares

Anyway , make sure you run the networking wizard in XP and make sure you use the 'WORKGROUP' as Workgroup......You would need to run the networking wizard on a PC !

guys, is it normal for a macbook to stop processing any application after a while?

my 3 days old macbook can only open safari & itunes after 3 hours of use rclxub.gif

iphoto, photo booth, garage band all cannot, the icon just bouncing then not responding.

but after i restart it again..the application seems to be fine and able to use again..

is it a prblem with my macbook or i just need a bigger ram?

dude... did u use Monolingual to remove anything?... the only time i had the same issue as u was when i used tat software to remove some language files but ended up removing some powerpc architecture files tat is required for some programs to work... i did a reinstallation and everything's fine and dandy...

Mayb someone else can help u out on the 3 hr usage thing... hv u tried calling apple malaysia or the tech guys at whr u got ur macbook?

Vandetta,
On a separate note, I'm now running on 2GB RAM!... Woo Hoo... and u know wat RAM i'm using? A-Data... cost me only 650 for 2GB... i traded in my original RAM which was Hynix or some crap brand like tat for 80 bucks... paid 570 for 2 GB... now i love my macbook even more!...

I tried to see if it'll lag and i launched like 6 quicktime movies, itunes, skype, microsoft words, excel, dreamweaver and keynote... it all ran smoothly... i'm gonna try sumore to see if i can hang my machine now.... hahaha...

i dont have that problems....but i guess it's beacause of not enough RAM......

the longer my macbook is on, the slower applications open up.....but mine do open up....just takes a bit of time....

You have to enable file sharing in windows also and share the folder / partition that you want so then you can see the data in it..

It's the pre-installed OS that came together with the MB, right? I would suggest you to erase and install it back, so that you can have full control of what will be installed in your MB smile.gif

Congartulations man, 2GB of RAM will push your Mac to maximum biggrin.gif But RM650 is surely a lot more cheaper than the tested-by-apple RAM and it worth it, right? rclxms.gif

all this posts of problems with macbooks are making me worried. But so far, my macbook has been performing problem free.
I had some issues installing Win XP with Boot Camp and i scrapped the whole idea, so it's running fine now. smile.gif
Hope u guys get your individual problems sorted out. I do have to say that the Macbook does feel alittle fragile compared to normal heavy duty usage Dells biggrin.gif
E.g. When i open the MacBook each time, i start wondering if i'll break the iSight camera one day in the near future... hahahaha.... it's located exactly where i'll apply the most pressure to open the macbook since the magnetic locks on both sides are rather strong...
