heheh... looks like small like niggles r beginnin to surface for the macbook... mine has a strange creaking sound at the monitor hinges... sounds like some cheap production crap... heheh..

update:
Juz called VR tech... the hinge can be replaced... and covered in the warranty... 3 days tho...
*
mine is still ok...no creaking sound.
the flickering start when it's start to dimm the display before it go to sleep.

:: update
the flickering occured when i used the battery..
with brightness is about 50%
but when i use power adapter, everything is fine.

QUOTE(Shanks @ Aug 19 2006, 12:32 AM)

Have any of you guys tried the new MacBook firmware update yet? I'm hesitant to, as I like that my MacBook is super quiet as I've never even heard the fans on before. Even if it gets a little hot, I just love the silent operation of it.

With this update, temps are supposed to come down, but the fans will be on more often as a result. Tell me what you guys think or how it goes if you install the update.
*
oredi install the firmware..
i've noticed that my MacBook a liitle bit cooler when it still running 3-4 hour.

before this, it is really hot when you touch at the bottom of MacBook.

hairol... i've also just installed the latest SMC firmware for the macbook. The fan sounds the same.
Anyways... just wondering... Can you delete the firmware update file once you have already installed the firmware? Not too sure about this lah, coz the update file is still located in the Utilities folder...
*
ok..!
eemm..not sure,
but i recommend you that u leave it in there.

hey guys... just wanted to let you know that i've finally managed to successfully install WinXP in my Macbook. Downloaded the latest BootCamp 1.1 beta and this time around, the installation process went smoothly, partitioning was down rather fast, and the installation of WinXP didn't take more than 30 mins. The Mac drivers CD was also successfully installed without any fuss. I'm a real happy bunny now smile.gif

congratulation! rclxms.gif
