so the heat issue is from the cpu rather than the battery? or both?
*
Sotong...
if u check macnn forums or etc, wat they say is the heat's frm the processor... probable cause is the thermal paste they apply on the processor... may be too much of paste on the processors adi...

dunno bout the battery wor... but historically, macs do run abit hotter wan rite?

Guys,

Where can i get the 12 months interest free installment plan?
*
if u hv a credit card... it can happen...

a note is always check if they can process the 12 mth thingie for your bank's credit card... otherwise, you may be subjected to a 4-5% interest on top of amount charged...

if they hv a tie-up wit ur credit card's bank, then they can handle the installment thingie for u... otherwise, you will need to contact ur bank b4/after purchase (depending on banks) abt converting the purchase to 12 mths...

answered ur question?

I know i may be barking up the wrong tree here but isnt anyone else worried about the discolouration of the MBs..? I know its merely cosmetic but still....

Those already with MBs, if you dont mind telling, could i know your serial numbers please..? just wondering if it is any different from the ones with the reported problems so far...

man, im seriously getting really anxious.
*
Bahir,
it sucks, yes... but it's supposedly only happening to a segment of the buyers... and thr's not much been said lately abt the discoloration... bsides, if it were to happen, a non-acetone nail polish remover is able to get rid of the yellow stains... thumbup.gif

actually i'm more chicken shit than u cause i'm totally avoiding this by getting the black one... hehehe... whistling.gif

Oooo. Congrates to all those who have got their MACBOOK. I still haven't got call from the MACSTUDIO guys.
*
Bahir, u know wat u can do?... even if the place doesnt handle the installment pymt for ur credit card, u can still charge the purchase, then contact ur bank abt the purchase made to convert it to installment.

BUT before u do that, check wit ur bank to see if they allow tat... most banks do now... :-) they'll of course charge a small percentage for their troubles la... the banks i mean...

i think cycom still has a few 2.0ghz (white) units... dunno if they r gonna offload it immediately or not...

can't get back deposits if you dowan the machine wan ah?...

hey all... got my blackbook on fri... it's been pretty good... it runs a little hot esp on the left hand side of the keyboard... idles at abt 40+C... after an hr, it averages abt 50+... the highest i got was 70C... which is scary...

512MB ram is juz not enough man...

i've yet to install windows in it yet tho... wanna get used to OSX... the notepal coolermaster juz doesnt cut it la... got tat oso but the mac's like all closed at the bottom... so even if i left the cooler running, it doesnt reduce the temp by much... mayb 1C...

i installed a copy of microsoft office (my friend's a teacher and the student/teacher version allows for 3 installations)... and i had a little problem... everytime i launch an office app, a pop up will say it has unexpected error; can't reach microsoft framework... wat the heck does this mean?... i've to register the software to get rid of this thing?

Bahir, the cycom folks can handle ur software worries... tat's wat they told me...

reinstall your OS X with the Clean Install option, avoid installing language files, printer drivers and trial softwares.... that should save up some of your precious HD space....

QUOTE(kbandito @ Jul 12 2006, 11:44 PM)
Ok thanks.
Another, some people say if you use window in MB they cannot suport certain codecs,
So?
*
kbandito...
I've juz recently switched to Mac... it's my 1st mth now... :-) and am totally loving it.. will not even bother abt Vista now... am so lookin forward to Leopard instead now... ;-)

The codec issue has some solutions. u can get most codecs needed frm www.pure-mac/video.html.... they are quicktime codecs so u can play ur stuff in quicktime, which i'm beginnin to super like now...

if all codecs dont work, u can easily d/l isquint and convert everything to mp4... then u r all set for ur ipod or PSP... :-)

Like eithanius said, realplayer and VLC works...Windows media Player is pretty ok too... wait for the Flip4Mac to update so u can view WMV & WMA files in Quicktime too... but currently, Windows media player works good..

FRONT ROW is juz plain amazing!... Photo Booth will give u hrs of laughs wit ur friends... iWeb will make u a website designer in no time... makin DVDs is so easy wit iDVD...

Bsides, if u happen to pandai pandai remove some architecture files via Monolingual, reinstalling the OS is super easy!... It has an option called Archive & Install whr it'll restore all the apps and settings frm ur previous installation to the new re-installation... i juz did it yesterday... heheh...

BT is easy wit Transmission and/or Azureus...

Go get ur macbook... u'll not regret it... and the fact tat it looks amazing helps too... :-) juz be mindful tat the machine will run abit hot... my averages abt 50-60C... i left my machine on for 36 hrs straight (BT purposes) and the temp was juz 50 odd...

hahahaha... yeah they wraped it... but nevermind... this macbook is great.. thanks got they have stock for it... later i upgrade it to 2gig ram... this computer much better than my previous imac g4 1.0ghz...
*
ijatz... look for hanzi_o in this LYP forum... he gives pretty good price... much much less for 2gb than any mac retailers...

btw, the stock 512 is juz not enough man... i made a dvd tat day and it took me more than 4 hrs to complete... and that oso only the burning & encoding process...
