Just wanna know the real life experience of users, benchmarks always show results they are supposed to show..
Well nothing much I can do, stuck with the Macbook, wanna upgrade the RAM to 2GB soon and thats about all I can do, as with any other previous Macbook owners. Looking forward to a Macbook Pro or Mac Pro... Which one you guys reckon? |

civic98,
I thought ur MacBook is pretty new? And now, ur considering getting another with a C2D processor? Perhaps if u need a faster machine, u may want to go for the Mac Pro instead of the MacBook Pro since that's upgradable plus, u oredi have something mobile. Just a thought *shrugs* |

Hey guys, i'm still kinda new at apple and i was wondering if windows runs natively on mac like they run on wintel machines?
I'm eyeing macbook pro as a mobile multimedia/decent gaming rig as in running bf2142 with mid~high level graphic settings. And i need to know whether the gaming performance [EDIT] on windows running bootcamp is same as wintel gaming machines with same specs. Thanks yea, in advance This post has been edited by KTay: Dec 20 2006, 04:17 PM |

hi all, i was planning to get a desktop,...lol. but i suddenly changed my mind. im thinkin to get a macbook.
what is in my mind now is, whether to get the 4.3k macbook or the 5.9k. i personally prefer black color, haha. im not into graphic or video editing n such. nor a hardcore gamer. what i mostly do is chatting, surfing, movies, musics, n some light gaming. ( my game is mostly cs 1.6, and dota occasionally) will this macbook be able to support? from what i read, macbook is very poor in gaming. the games that i play is suppose to be low end graphic i think, would macbook be able to support? and abt the additional of ram in the 4.3k macbook. i just need to add rm300+ to upgrade to 1g of ram? how abt the 5.9k macbook? how much to upgrade to 2gb of ram? so...what do u guys think? with all the activities i do on my lappy..i dont think im a hardcore user here. which lappy shld i pick? and 1 more thing....how much is the apple mighty mouse? im unable to check now cos im on vacation...n im planning to buy this macbook right after newyear. whahaha thanks |

Yes, macbook will be able to support dota and cs. Just run it under bootcamp.
If you ask the shop to upgrade to 2gb from 1gb, roughly about rm800~rm1k. You can do it yourself though, alot websites got pictorial guides to teach you. The price should be the same to upgrade either 1. The mid-level macbook should do the trick since the blackbook's difference with the mid-level macbook is only additional 40GB of hdd size. And since you're gonna be playing cs, you wouldn't want the mighty mouse. Any windows optical mouse will work with macs. This post has been edited by KTay: Dec 20 2006, 04:15 PM |

Ktay,
I've run BF21942 with high video settings on my 2.16 C2D 2GB ram MBP. No problem at all...Using bootcamp and winXp . The loading part is abit slow though. Game play seems smooth with no lagging. I didn't expect it as my machine only with ATI X1600 128mb. Mind me though, i'm not a gamer, just testing the machine. |

cazed,
U mean U can't view your Mac partition from windows? That's normal because Windows wont be able to detect Mac's portion. If u wanna transfer file between the two... boot OS X and do it... |

Very likely you have renamed your Home folder. It's your shortname, once you rename it, OSX will create an empty Home folder. Nothing is lost though, just rename it back to the original shortname, you can find them in the Users folder.
