Very likely you have renamed your Home folder. It's your shortname, once you rename it, OSX will create an empty Home folder. Nothing is lost though, just rename it back to the original shortname, you can find them in the Users folder.

yea...i think that is it..lol...how do i rename it and have the files to stay with it ?!

Anyone havin problems with their macbook ?!
i recently notice that the left side of the macbook casing which all the port are at start to get a lil bit loosen. i think is because of the heat. if you look from the side , you will notice that the top and bottom are not straight.( the gap between the screen and the keyboard). anybody confront with this problem ? i plan to get a notebook cooler...any recommendation for the notebook cooler ?

Cazed,

I dont think the cooler gonna solve your problem. U gonna use it even when u r on the road?

Take your macbook back for a warantee claim asap. try not to use it anymore if it is plagued with a heating problem to prevent further damage.
*
i'll be using it at home all the time. Does your macbook heat up until 70c, i tot it was kind of common. Is it common that the macbook heats up 70c and above ?.

The case is a lil loosen, i don bother much...but should i return it to the shop and claim my warranty ? i mean its a lil bit of a problem with the casing, will they change a new one or do something ??

Cazed, mind telling me what kinda surface do you usually place your macbook on ? It is recommended to place it on a flat surface like a table. Placing it on surfaces like your bed or pillow will affect the airflow beneath your macbook and will hike up your macbook's temperature.

Flat surface, its on the table. i put 2 erasers at the end for better air flow....lol

i think is time to send my macbook to the shop................. cry.gif

Cazed,

YOur mb is only 2 weeks old? Give u more reason to send it back to the shop. Make use of the warantee given by u while it's still available. Fix the problem for free now before u gotta take out money for something bigger later.

I'm not using a mb, i cant tell u what is the normal temp, but my mbp normally runs around 40c to 45c. i'm using a fan controller which u can download at http://www.lobotomo.com/products/FanControl/ .

porkchop,

Rm 3699 was for the 1.83 CD. Macstudio and Machines were selling at that price before their stock ran out. I dont think u can find a new one anymore. U can get a used one though. Plenty of mb cd users selling it in order to get the latest C2D.

thanks for the advise Noel, it normally happens on my windows xp, because of gaming and normal internet surfin, like rite now the temp is like 66c already and im only surfin. i dint try out the mac fully yet because i don have the programs yet.

ur mbp temp is only 40-45c,damn amazing....mine is 55-70c....im using smcFan.

so is it advise that i should send it back to the shop due to a minor casing and heating problem ?

thankz bout the info on the notebook cooler zakimi...im maybe gettin it!
