It depends on your current corneal condition and health. They will have to recheck you thoroughly before recommending the most suitable for your eyes. Interested to try again or stick to glasses or contact lens, u can contact me to have discount on any of them.

I am doing Lasik at JB optimax soon; having my eye examination done next tuesday and the surgery probably on the 8th of June. Can someone kindly provide me with your name and handphone number for referral? Appreciate it.

You can call Optimax toll free hotline to ask for the difference in price with and without the referral letter. I think its few hundred ringgit cheaper with referral letter, even the preliminary test will be cheaper too.

Just private message me your details, full name, hp number, email, birth date and mailing address. Then i will ask them to send you a referral letter to enjoy the discount.

Need to pay full price as the time when I did the surgery it's not lifetime like current package. However to my understanding is that to get lifetime warranty you need to go for routine checkup which you need to pay.

Been reading through this thread...funny thing is i did LASIK before i stumbled on all the NO to LASIK info found here...here is my personal experience; I had my LASIK done at OPTIMAX Kota Kinabalu in January 2011. The procedure was without complications although i have to say i felt sensations of being drowned in a body of water probably due to the watery solution they used during the operation and they used clamps to force the eyes open, so you basically can see everything - hence the drowning sensation.

My post-op experience was not very pleasant - no i did not have pain, in fact i didn't even touch the pain medication they provided and i also did not experience any dry eyes syndrome. My complaint was that my vision was blurry for at least 3 days which left me dependent on the kindness of others, something i am not used to.

When i shared my concerns with OPTIMAX, they did further tests and conclude that it seems that my vision was not able to be corrected to the level they hoped but i was told i would need to wait at least 6 months - 1 year for my vision to stabilize before they could do any further correction.

As the months progressed i found my reading ability has improved tremendously but i was not able to see very far...views 25 feet from me would be a problem since it would become blurry...driving at night was not a problem though because the glares and halos complications disappeared after a month.

A year has passed and OPTIMAX agreed that enhancement can be done to correct my vision. As of today I just had the enhancement done on the 25 May...I waited additional 6 months before i had my enhancement NOT because I was told to do so but because i had work and personal commitments.

I would like to report i am VERY HAPPY with the enhancement result...i can now see both near and far. It was like the result i thought i should have gotten after the first procedure a year ago. Again there was no pain, just slight dry eyes and no blurry vision this time around...in fact i was pleased to wake up a few hours after the operation and open my eyes to clear vision. And did i mentioned that the enhancement was done free of charge? Yes i did not have to pay a single cent.

Again i'd like to remind that my experience with LASIK might not be the same for everyone. I just thought i'd share what i have lived through for the last one and half years. The decision to go for LASIK and throwing away my glasses and contacts were among the best ones i did.

Guess I had an even better experience.
I drove alone for the 1st day review rclxms.gif

Just try not to have a too high expectations.
Not everyone will get the perfect vision.
I don't but still night & day compared to wearing glasses.

Had my eye assessment done at Optimax yesterday (thanks to Jialat for the referral) and I found out that I am only suitable for Implantable Collamer (contact) Lens as my corneas were too thin.

Oh man. So expensive. I do not know if it worth the price. Has anyone over here done ICL? Care to share the experience and opinions?

No one can be sure the price because it depends on your corneal thickness. You can only find out after the eye check in the centre. If you want, i can get u a referral letter to get discount on eye check in optimax. thanks

You are welcome, bro.

I have 2 patients whose refractive error more than -10.00 diopter with thin cornea, not suitable for normal LASIK. They had ICL by optimax Dr Chuah, and they have perfect vision now. I lost 2 contact lens user but they refer family and friends to get contact lens from me nowadays.

Hi. Am keen to get my vision corrected too. Both my eyes is about 800++ with astigmatism. I have got my eyes checked in vista but the price they quoted me was friggin expensive.

Recently my optician who just got her vision corrected recommended me to go to optimax in taman tun. Is it good? Anyone can share with me how much is the cost for the whole procedure and the follow up? Gotta plan the budget first. Thanks

Both Optimax and Vista are good, just the price is different. Do you remember how thick is your cornea when you checked in Vista recently? Follow up is free in optimax, its included in the surgery fee.

As your power is quite high, but u have thin cornea, then u will need custom laser lasik, optimax and vista are doing almost the same price if u walk in or call them to ask, I can ask my friend to send u a referral letter, so you only need to pay Rm 3750 per eye for customize laser lasik. thanks
